Delivering better healthcare, closer to every Surigaonon 🚑💚

The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur proudly marks the turnover of six (6) brand-new ambulances funded under the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Local Government Support Fund (LGSF-FALGU), led by Acting Provincial Governor Manuel O. Alameda Sr.

These lifesaving units have been officially distributed to our province-operated district and community hospitals:

• Lingig Community Hospital
• Bislig District Hospital
• Marihatag District Hospital
• San Miguel Community Hospital
• Cortes Municipal Hospital
• Madrid District Hospital

This initiative strengthens our emergency response capability and ensures faster, more efficient medical services, especially in far-flung communities where every second counts.

More than vehicles, these ambulances represent hope, access, and our continued commitment to quality healthcare for all.

The turnover ceremony was also blessed by Rev. Fr. Soje C. Cuadrado, adding a solemn reminder of faith and unity in our shared mission of service.

Padayon kita sa pagserbisyo alang sa kaayuhan sa kinatibuk-an!

The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur extends its gratitude to Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders for conducting the Training on Capacity Building for Emergency Health and Basic Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for Municipal and Community-level participants from the Local Health Area Development Zones of District I.

The activity, scheduled in four batches this March and April, strengthens the capacity of our local responders in emergency health and psychosocial support. This initiative is conducted in partnership with the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur to further enhance community preparedness and resilience.
