Ms. Archie B. Cabrera, RSW, served as the Resource Person during the learning session on Gender-Responsive Handling, Protection, Intervention, and Referral of Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and Learners Who Are Victims of Sexual Abuse, conducted for the personnel of Telaje Elementary School on September 25, 2026.

The session aimed to strengthen the knowledge and capacity of school personnel in appropriately handling cases involving CICL and learners who are victims of sexual abuse, while promoting child-sensitive, and rights-based approaches to protection, intervention, and referral.

It also emphasized the importance of timely and appropriate coordination with concerned agencies and service providers to ensure the safety, protection, and well-being of children in need of special protection.

CSWDO Tandag City Strengthens Child Protection and Case Management Efforts

On September 17, 2026, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Tandag City conducted a case management activity at the Home for Girls in Butuan City involving two child victims of sexual abuse.

The CSWDO staff facilitated the admission of a child victim of sexual abuse to the facility to ensure her safety, protection, and access to appropriate care and support. The child’s guardian accompanied the CSWDO staff throughout the admission process.

The staff also attended a case conference for another child previously referred by the CSWDO to the Home for Girls, to discuss her current situation, progress, needs, and appropriate interventions moving forward. Her guardian likewise participated in the case conference.

These efforts reflect the CSWDO’s continuing commitment to providing child-centered, protective, and responsive social welfare services, particularly to children who have experienced abuse and other forms of vulnerability.

The City Government of Tandag, led by Hon. Roxanne C. Pimentel, continues to bring essential services closer to the community. On September 16, 2026, a community service activity was conducted in Sitio Banahao, Maitom, Tandag City.

Representing the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Mr. Winflor O. Cabrera facilitated the distribution of Bulilit Program Kits (School Bags, P.E. Uniform, school shoes and tumbler) to eleven (11) daycare learners of Banahao Child Development Center, providing essential school supplies to support their early learning and development.

The activity also included the distribution of assistive devices to five (5) senior citizens, helping address their mobility and daily living needs.

Through these initiatives, the City Government of Tandag, through the CSWDO, reaffirms its commitment to promoting the welfare of children, senior citizens, and other sectors of the community.

𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞 (𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐇) 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Tandag City successfully conducted a three-day Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Training for thirty (30) Child Development Workers (CDWs), with a resource person from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga.

The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of our CDWs in promoting proper hygiene, sanitation, and health practices in Child Development Centers (CDCs), ensuring a safe, clean, and healthy learning environment for our young learners.

Through this capacity-building activity, we continue to strengthen our commitment to providing quality early childhood care and development services and ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of every child.
