Zero Waste Month 2026 | Environmental Awareness Activity 🌱

In celebration of Zero Waste Month 2026, with the theme “R.A. 9003 @25: Honoring our past, renewing commitments, innovating for a cleaner tomorrow,” the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (City ENRO) successfully conducted an environmental learning session earlier this morning at the Barangay Dagocdoc Covered Court.

The activity was attended by a total of 26 students from Saint Theresa College and Jacinto P. Elpa National High School (Junior and Senior High School), composed of 9 male and 17 female participants, together with members of MARITES-Tandag City. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Barangay Dagocdoc Council for their generous support and for providing the venue.

The program was graced by For. James Edgar Y. Pilapil, who delivered the welcome message on behalf of DENR–PENRO, setting the tone for a meaningful and engaging discussion.

Our resource speakers included:
♻️ Ms. Daisy Jane P. Vete, CDA-I of CENRO and Assistant Program Head-Designate, who shared Tandag City’s Ecological Solid Waste Management best practices and innovations; and
♻️ Mr. George Salas Jr., Environmental Monitoring Officer (EnMO) from EMB Caraga–PEMU SDS, who provided valuable insights the Brief background on Zero waste month celebration and actionable steps that promote a circular economy, reduce plastic waste, and encourage community-level action.

Together, let us continue strengthening partnerships, empowering the youth, and advancing sustainable practices for a cleaner and healthier Tandag City. 🌍
