The Coast Guard Sub-Station Tandag Conduct Baywatch Patrol for Holy Week and SUMVAC 2026
04 April 2026 | In observance of Holy Week and SUMVAC 2026, the Coast Guard Sub-Station Tandag, in the capable hands of Acting Sub-Station Commander ENS Ralph P Bolaรฑo PCG, the personnel of Sub-Station together with Lifeguard on Duty conducted Baywatch Patrols in connection with OPLAN BIYAHENG AYOS: Semana Santa and Summer Vacation (SUMVAC) 2026.
This initiative aims to ensure the safety and security of beachgoers along the shoreline and vicinity waters off Tandag City Mahayag Beach, Brgy. Buenavista, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐: Coast Guard Sub-Station Tandag, under the leadership of Station Commander Coast Guard Station Surigao Del Sur, ENS JUNE ANTHONY Q BONSUBRE PCG and represented by his Deputy Station Commander ENS RALPH P BOLAรO PCG paid a courtesy call to PROVINCIAL GOVERNOR, HON. Johnny T. Pimentel, held at the OFFICE OF THE GOVERNER, Provincial Hall Building, Brgy. Telaje Tandag City Surigao Del Sur today, 02 March 2026.
The visit aimed to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in support of the upcoming activities that align with maritime safety, maritime security, and maritime law enforcement for community engagement, and local development efforts.
This engagement reflects the Sub-Stationโs proactive support for local government programs that contribute to sustainable progress and public service partnership.

๐ข WORK SUSPENSION ADVISORY!
Mayor Roxanne Pimentel has ordered the SUSPENSION OF WORK in both government offices and private offices/establishments within the territorial jurisdiction of Tandag City, effective today, February 05, 2026, until further notice.
This is due to the potential hazards brought by Tropical Storm โBasyang,โ including heavy rainfall and the issuance of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 over Surigao del Sur, including Tandag City.
Offices and personnel involved in disaster response, emergency, and essential services are exempted.
Heads of offices and agencies are directed to ensure that skeletal emergency teams are maintained, where necessary, to carry out critical and disaster-related operations.

Tandag City Prepares for Tropical Depression โBasyangโ
TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur โ The Tandag City Emergency Response Team (TCERT) and the cityโs Search and Rescue Operations Response Cluster have prepositioned rescue assets and equipment as part of preparedness measures ahead of Tropical Depression โBasyang.โ
The move aims to ensure quick response and efficient rescue operations in case of flooding or other weather-related emergencies. Residents are advised to stay updated with official advisories and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains.

๐๐๐๐๐ : The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Sur together with Coast Guard Sub-Station Tandag through Special Operations Group-NEM, Medical Service-NEM and Nursing Service-NEM successfully concluded its 21-days of Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) held at CDRRMO Building Brgy. Awasian, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
The intensive training was participated by 29 individuals, including responders from the Tandag City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), PNP Tandag, BFP, AFP and LGU's representatives.
The course commenced with body conditioning, Basic Life Support (BLS), Rubber Boat Operations, capsizing and recovery drills, Search and Rescue (SAR) techniques, water evolution and survival strategies. The final day, participants completed a 1-mile swim, showcasing their strength, endurance, stamina and water competency.
Upon completion of the training, participants are expected to serve as proactive first responders, capable of providing effective assistance during maritime incidents and natural disasters, ultimately contributing to a safer and more resilient City of Tandag.
