10.16.25 The LGU of Tangalan, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Gene T. Fuentes, received awards during the Supplementary Feeding Program Year-End Implementation Review and Skills Enhancement for LGU Partners in Punta Villa, Iloilo City.

1. Outstanding Local Government Implementer (14th Cycle Supplementary Feeding Program Implementation CY 2024-2025)

2. Recognition for achieving a 100% improvement in the Nutritional Status of target beneficiaries (14th Cycle Supplementary Feeding Program Implementation CY 2024-2025)

3. Successful implementation of the 14th Cycle Supplementary Feeding Program Implementation CY 2024-2025.

The award was received by Mr. Leonardo P. Bantad, Jr., MSWDO, Mr. Gervin J. Cawaling, SFP Focal Person and Mrs. Edna T. Ruiz, CDW Municipal Federation President.

2-day Capacity Development Training for the members of the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC).

The activity focused on the Formulation of the Local Situational Analysis on Children and a Walkthrough on the Four Legacies for Children. Aimed to strengthen the council’s capacity to assess the current situation of children in the locality, identify gaps in services, and design evidence-based interventions that promote their welfare, protection, and holistic development.

Participants also gained a deeper understanding of the Four Legacies for Children framework, emphasizing the importance of governance, survival, development, and participation as cornerstones of child rights and well-being.

10.05.25 A total of 60 senior citizens benefited from the free eye check-up and provision of reading glasses to senior citizen, which helped improve their visual health and overall quality of life in the Municipality of Tangalan.

10.07.25 The LGU of Tangalan, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Gene T. Fuentes through the office of Mr. Leonardo P. Bantad, Jr., MSWDO, conducted a 1-day Training/Orientation on Republic Act No. 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act and other GAD-related laws for the members of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee in the Municipality. The training aimed to equip the committee members with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the laws to effectively address and prevent sexual harassment in the community.

Our utmost appreciation to Mrs. Maranatha E. Vargas for sharing her expertise and to all the participants for their commitment to promoting safe and inclusive spaces within the Municipality.

10.09.25 The DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program conducted Simple Bookkeeping and Financial Management Training to Six(6) newly organized SLPAs in the Municipality of Tangalan,Aklan. The training were attended by the selected officers and members of the association. The activity aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of the participants in proper financial management and reports preparation to established transparency of the SLPAs projects.

This iniative has been possible through the support of LGU Tangalan headed by Mayor Gene T. Fuentes and Mr. Leonardo P. Bantad Jr., MSWDO.

10.09.25 Ceremonial turnover of cheque to Vivo Indigenous Association amounting of P300,000.00 as seed capital fund for copra trading project through Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD FO6.

09.27.25 The Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Council, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Gene T. Fuentes through Mr. Leonardo P. Bantad, Jr., MSWDO, together with the Quick Response Team (QRT) members of DSWD FO6 distributed Family Food Packs (FFPs) to families who have been affected by the impact of the Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Storm Opong in the Municipality of Tangalan, Aklan.
