LTC ALOG DELIVERS KEYNOTE AT CvSU‑CCAT ROTC OPENING, PINNING, AND TURN‑OVER CEREMONY
ROSARIO, CAVITE — On 03 October 2026, at 0900H, the Cavite State University‑CCAT Campus ROTC Unit officially opened the Basic and Advance ROTC Academic Year 2026–2027 in a ceremony that also featured the Pinning of Ranks and Turn‑Over of Command, held at the CvSU‑CCAT Campus, Tejeros Convention, Rosario, Cavite.
Presiding as Keynote Speaker was LTC NORREL C ALOG OS (GSC) PA, Acting Commander of the Provincial Task Force‑Cavite, 4th Regional Community Defense Group (4RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RESCOM, PA).
The ceremony marked the formal commencement of training for both Basic and Advance ROTC cadets, symbolizing a fresh cycle of leadership development, discipline, and service. The Pinning of Ranks recognized the advancement of cadet officers to higher responsibilities, while the Turn‑Over of Command signified the seamless transfer of unit leadership — ensuring continuity, stability, and sustained readiness within the corps.
In his keynote address, LTC ALOG emphasized the vital role of ROTC in molding future leaders and reservists grounded in patriotism, character, and duty. He shared a meaningful interpretation of the acronym ROTC to guide the cadets throughout the academic year:
R — Resilience and Respect / Katatagan at Paggalang
“Ang tunay na kadete ay may katatagan sa harap ng pagsubok at paggalang sa kapwa, sa nakatatanda, at sa sarili. Ito ang pundasyon ng mabuting pinuno.”
O — Optimistic / May Pag‑asa at Positibong Pananaw
LTC ALOG then shared the inspiring story of Cadet Lorren Gola — a former ROTC cadet who rose through perseverance, discipline, and unwavering dedication. He recounted how Cadet Gola began as an ordinary trainee, faced numerous challenges, yet refused to quit. Through consistent effort, steadfast commitment to duty, and genuine love for service, Gola eventually became an outstanding leader and a proud graduate — proving that every cadet, regardless of background, can excel and lead if they remain true to their training and ideals.
“Cadet Gola’s journey is your journey too,” LTC ALOG told the assembly. “He started where you are standing now — with the same uniform, the same challenges, and the same opportunity. What set him apart was not extraordinary talent, but an extraordinary willingness to show up, endure, and keep going. That is the power of ROTC — it transforms ordinary individuals into leaders who serve with honor.”
He challenged the cadets to embrace ROTC training not merely as an academic requirement, but as a privilege and a solemn obligation to serve the nation. He also commended the outgoing and incoming leadership for their commitment, urging the entire unit to uphold the highest standards of discipline, competence, and Esprit de Corps as they embark on the new academic year.
The event was attended by ROTC cadets, officers, training staff, and unit personnel — all in proper uniform — reflecting the unity, pride, and preparedness of the CvSU‑CCAT ROTC Unit under the mentorship of PTF‑Cavite, 4RCDG, RESCOM, PA.
