Share the love, the joy, and the hope. The TSU Linguistic Society and the Department of English Language Studies spent their holiday break making a real difference in the community. On December 22, 2025, as part of the Project Aytalakad Ing Lahi, student volunteers and faculty traveled to Sitio Manabayukan for “Turong Durong", a special literacy session for the Aeta Mag-Anchi community. The goal was simple: to connect with the community and help members, especially elders, to learn basic English words and phrases for everyday use. This was not just about teaching but also honoring local teachers and building a stronger bond with the community. It was a day of growth for everyone. While the community members gained their confidence in learning and speaking the English language, our students gained deeper respect for different cultures, as well as improved their skills as future educators.

With Team Effort. The activity was made possible through the dedicated preparation of the TSU Linguistic Society, working alongside the Rotaract Club of TSU - Unison of Change (UOC) as our university-wide partner for this event. Both organizations handle the behind-the-scenes preparation to ensure the outreach's success. This project showed that language can truly bring people together—turning the vision into a reality.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Head of the Department of English Language Studies, Dr. Myrel Santiago, in guiding the students along with our faculty extensionists: Ms. Noreen Soliven, Mr. Henry Andres, Ms. Reylene Mananquil, Ms. Trisha Kaye Jimenez, Ms. Jennelle Apolonio, and Mr. Joshua Emil Sacalamitao. We’re also grateful to be accompanied and guided by Sir. Romer Madrid from the Extension Office of Project Aytalakad ing Lahi, who served as a gateway for the students to be able to communicate and navigate with the community.🙌
