The DILG Tarlac Provincial Office proudly joins the nation in celebrating National Women’s Month, embracing this year’s sub-theme, “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas.”

Rooted in our mandate to promote effective, accountable, and inclusive local governance, we recognize the indispensable role of women in building resilient communities across the Province of Tarlac. From barangay halls to municipal and city governments, women leaders, public servants, and community champions continue to shape policies, strengthen institutions, and deliver programs that uplift the lives of our fellow Tarlaqueños.

Inspired by the Babaylans, who symbolize courage, wisdom, and servant leadership, we honor today’s Filipinas who lead with integrity, compassion, and determination. Their leadership is evident in advancing gender-responsive governance, championing peace and order, strengthening disaster preparedness, promoting transparency, and ensuring that no one is left behind in local development.

As an institution, DILG Tarlac remains steadfast in advocating for gender equality and the full implementation of laws and policies that protect women’s rights, promote safe communities, and institutionalize Gender and Development programs in our local government units. We are committed to fostering environments where women’s voices are heard, their contributions valued, and their leadership fully realized.

This Women’s Month, let us reaffirm our shared responsibility to build inclusive local governments where every Filipina can lead, serve, and thrive.

DILG Tarlac’s New Provincial Director Strengthens Ties with Tarlac City Mayor

Tarlac City – DILG Tarlac Provincial Director Zotico Gerson A. Villanueva, Jr., CESE, recently paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Susan A. Yap, Mayor of Tarlac City, on February 11, 2026.

During the visit, PD Villanueva and Mayor Yap discussed strategic initiatives to enhance local governance, including the implementation of community safety programs, the Seal of Good Local Governance, and improvements in local government operations. They also explored collaborative efforts to enhance barangay services and address local concerns. Both leaders emphasized the importance of strong coordination and regular communication to ensure the success of their joint initiatives.

It is worth noting that Director Villanueva is the newly appointed Provincial Director, succeeding the retired Director Moral.

DILG Tarlac City Office Joins Barangay General Assembly to Strengthen Community Governance

Tarlac City, February 10, 2026 — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Tarlac City Field Office, led by LGOO VI Precious Ava E. Guevarra, En.P., along with LGOO II Denver S. Yumul, actively participated in the Barangay General Assembly at the SP Session Hall, Tarlac City.

This monthly gathering brought together all Punong Barangays of Tarlac City to discuss pressing community issues, set shared priorities, and boost cooperation with partner agencies. It also served as an opportunity to strengthen ties between the barangays, the DILG, and the Liga ng mga Barangay — reaffirming their joint commitment to building responsive, effective, and inclusive local governance for all residents.

The DILG Tarlac City Field Office warmly welcomes PD Zotico Gerson A. Villanueva Jr., CESE, as the newly appointed Provincial Director of DILG Tarlac. We express our sincere gratitude for the dedicated service and valuable guidance provided by our outgoing Provincial Director, Martin Porres B. Moral, CESO V. Wishing him a happy and fulfilling retirement!

Yumul, participated in the Sanggunian Kabataan Federation Officers of Tarlac City General Assembly today at the SP Session Hall, Tarlac City.

The activity aimed to bring together all Sanggunian Kabataan officials to discuss important issues related to youth governance, share organizational updates, and outline priority programs and activities for the upcoming period.
