The Digital Forensic Unit of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group rendered technical assistance to the Women and Children Protection Center - Anti-Trafficking in Person Division in their implementation of a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) against a 31-year-old man, alias "Budoy," who is involved in online sexual abuse and exploitation of children on March 18, 2026, at about 8:30 PM in Quezon City.
An on-site digital forensic examination was conducted by the digital forensic examiner on the suspect's devices, which yielded positive results for the possession of several Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM), leading to his arrest.
"Budoy" is facing charges for violation of RA No. 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children or OSAEC and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials or CSAEM).
This operation supports the directive of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.
PBGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the unit for its technical assistance. He also added, โThe PNP ACG supports other agencies and units and is ready to provide assistance to pursue perpetrators and strengthen efforts to protect vulnerable individuals from online abuse and exploitation."

The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group - Cyber Patrolling and Intelligence Unit and Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 3, in coordination with the Mabalacat City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), conducted a successful rescue operation on April 8, 2026, at about 11:50 PM in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, that led to the rescue of a 14-year-old boy, alias "Matt," following a report of exhibiting nihilistic violence and suicidal ideation online.
โMattโ was immediately referred to the Mabalacat CSWDO for proper intervention and is currently undergoing regular home visitation, psychosocial support, and psychotherapy for further assessment and care. Meanwhile, authorities continue their investigation to gather additional information and ensure the proper resolution of the case.
