The Municipality of Taytay is a first class, densely populated municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. km. (14.98 sq. mi.) (21,000/sq. away from Manila.
It is the "Woodworks and Garments Capital of the Philippines". The National Competitiveness Council has named Taytay as the 2nd Most Competitive Municipality (1st & 2nd) in 2016. It is hereby declared as a policy of the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal to promote and encourage domestic and foreign investments with policies ensuring active and sustainable development and to provide an enabling environment to wit:
a. Attract and encourage investments in priority areas that will significantly contribute to the socio-economic development of the Municipality of Taytay. b. Enhance the business environment of the Municipality through improved policies and measures including the provision of facilities in accordance with governing laws, rules and regulations. c. Prioritize investments that will provide employment and livelihood opportunities for Taytayeños. d. Promote the appropriate utilization and management of natural resources and maintain ecological balance in line with economic growth. e. Provide just and appropriate incentives to entrepreneurs considered pioneers or the first to invest in a certain priority area identified in this Code regardless of type of capitalization. f. Incentives to be established shall be fair, clear, time-bound and consistent with national laws to ensure a leveled playing field for investors in the Municipality. g. Incentives shall support and promote the development vision of the Municipality of Taytay as expressed in its Comprehensive Development and Land Use Plans. h. Investment policies and programs of the Municipality shall be supportive of and aligned with the regional and national thrusts. i. Efficient use of natural resources to conserve and protect those indigenous to the locality. j. Industries/businesses to be set up in the locality shall.
• Help minimize adverse impacts and enhance positive effects on the environment by undertaking business practices that adhere to the country’s environmental laws such as efficient solid waste and pollution management, adopting technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, implanting climate change adaption measures and disaster risk reduction and management among others;
• Treat all their employees and contractors fairly, respect their dignity and well-being and comply with labor laws and other legislations;
• Ensure the safety and healthy working conditions for employees and safeguard those affected by the business by producing healthy and safe products, among others;
• Provide opportunities and protection for women, children, person with disability indigenous people and contribute to improved quality of life through corporate social responsibility programs; and
• Provide greater employment opportunities to Taytayeños.
