Gaddani National High School (GNHS) extends its sincerest gratitude to the Tayum Super Rural Health Unit (RHU) team, composed of Gay B. Taluban, Lyra Jane E. Bernal, and Alma P. Balneg, together with the dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of barangay Gaddani, Patrick Tugcay, Bingle Joy Tollas, Mylene Valera, and Lanie Bello, for their invaluable partnership in promoting and safeguarding the health and well-being of our learners.

Through their commitment and collaborative efforts, the following health services were provided to our learners:
🩺 Weekly Iron and Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFA) for female learners in Grades 9 and 10 to help prevent iron deficiency and support their overall health.

💉 MR-TD vaccination for Grade 7 learners as part of the school's efforts to promote immunization and protect learners against vaccine-preventable diseases.

🔬 Urine testing under the Renal Disease Control Program for learners in Grades 9 and 10 to support early detection and promote awareness of kidney health.

These essential health services were made possible through the support and leadership of Mr. Wilfredo M. Gandeza, School Principal, and Mr. Rober Pietro Cardenas, School Nurse II, with the active assistance and cooperation of the GNHS faculty.

GNHS firmly believes that healthy learners are better prepared to learn, grow, and achieve their full potential. This partnership reflects the importance of collaboration among schools, health professionals, and the community in building a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for every learner.

To our partners at Tayum Super RHU and our dedicated Barangay Health Workers, thank you for your service, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our learners' health. Your efforts go beyond providing health services—they help nurture a healthier, more empowered, and more resilient school community.

GNHS LAUNCHES MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

Gaddani National High School (GNHS) marked the celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month through a short yet meaningful launching activity held after the flag ceremony on October 20, 2026, carrying the theme, “Lakas Isip: A Movement for Mental Health and Well-Being,” in line with DepEd Memorandum No. 524, s. 2026.

The activity aimed to raise awareness among learners, teachers, and school personnel about the importance of mental and emotional health, emphasizing the need to understand one's feelings, manage stress, and show compassion toward others.

It began with an introduction to mental health awareness, reminding the GNHS community that taking care of one's mental health is just as important as maintaining physical health. It also highlighted the importance of creating a safe and supportive school environment where learners can express their emotions without fear of judgment or discrimination.

It was spearheaded by Mr. Rober Pietro P. Cardenas, the school nurse II, serving as the proponent of the initiative with Mrs. Ma. Angelina G. Crispin, the school's Guidance Designate. Their involvement emphasized the school's commitment to promoting mental health awareness and encouraging learners to prioritize their overall well-being.

One of the highlights of the activity was the sharing of mental health ideas and opinions, where learners were encouraged to express their thoughts about the importance of mental health awareness. King Kervin Dumlao, Lizele Tejero, and Syrich Renlie Alagao shared their opinions about the activity, contributing to the discussion on the significance of understanding mental health and fostering a supportive school community.

Participants were also encouraged to practice simple yet meaningful ways to care for their well-being and support others. These included taking breaks when overwhelmed, listening without judgment, avoiding bullying, and seeking help from trusted adults when needed.

School Principal Mr. Wilfredo M. Gandeza also shared inspiring words, emphasizing the importance of building a school community that values kindness, understanding, and the overall well-being of every learner and school personnel.

The celebration further featured a musical presentation of “Hawak Kamay,” popularized by Yeng Constantino, symbolizing unity, friendship, and the importance of standing together during difficult times.

Through this initiative, GNHS encouraged everyone to remember that asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness. The activity also reinforced the message that small acts of kindness, sincere conversations, and genuine concern can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

As the school continues to promote mental health awareness, the GNHS community is encouraged to embody the spirit of “Lakas Isip” by fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and support, ensuring that no learner feels alone in facing life's challenges.

HEARTS BEHIND THE VICTORY

Gaddani National High School proudly acknowledges the generous donors, sponsors, and community partners whose support carried our student-athletes all the way to the playing field.

A wave of gratitude goes to the GNHS Master Teachers for their generous contributions: Mrs. Jonalean E. De Guzman, MTI, who donated ₱5,000; Mrs. Melanie D. Claridad, MTI, who contributed ₱2,500; and Mrs. Maria Angelina G. Crispin, MTII, who gave ₱2,000.

The school also extends its heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Jamaica Claustro, Mrs. Elvie Tejero, Mr. Carlos Manuel, Mrs. Edna Balneg and Mrs. Janyn Bosas for their valuable in-kind donations.

The school also extends its heartfelt thanks to SB Jun Dion and Ma’am Beth Dion-Hagedorn for their generosity. They sponsored a full lunch and a swimming spree for our futsal players, together with their dedicated coach, Miss Novie Jade Obngayan.

After days of intense training and competition, the futsal team enjoyed a day of rest, laughter, and team bonding. More than food and fun, this gesture reminded our athletes that they are valued, seen, and supported. Your generosity, Ma’am and Sir, nourished not only their bodies but also their team spirit.

The Gaddani NHS family also recognizes the incomparable hospitality of Mrs. Adelfa Tugadi, and her family, who graciously opened their home to our athletes and coaches. Their kitchen became a place of preparation, where snacks and meals were cooked and prepared to provide the players and coaches with the energy and comfort they needed throughout the meet.
Unit Meet 2026 proved that victory is not measured only by scores. It is measured by community, compassion, and bayanihan.

To all the donors, sponsors, and community partners, thank you for being the hearts behind our victory. Your kindness made a lasting difference in the lives of our student-athletes. God bless you all!

In a heartfelt expression of generosity and cultural appreciation, SB Agustin Barbieto and SB Jimmy Evaristo, both members of the Indigenous People (IP) community, donated a total of ₱2,000.00 to support the needs of the Indigenous People learners of Gaddani National High School (GNHS). Each councilor contributed ₱1,000.00 for the IP learners and teachers.

Their generous contribution was given in appreciation of how the IP teachers and learners continue to value, preserve, and promote their rich cultural heritage, as demonstrated through their active participation and leadership in the celebration of the IP Sunday Mass. Their efforts reflect the importance of keeping Indigenous traditions, beliefs, and cultural identity alive while passing these values on to the younger generation.

As fellow members of the Indigenous People community, SB Barbieto and SB Evaristo recognize the significance of preserving their cultural roots and ensuring that the traditions of their ancestors continue to thrive. Their donation was not only a form of material assistance but also a meaningful expression of solidarity, encouragement, and appreciation for the IP teachers and learners who remain committed to honoring their heritage.

May this gesture of generosity inspire greater unity, cultural appreciation, and continued support for the Indigenous People community.

GNHS CELEBRATES GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY 2026

Gaddani National High School (GNHS) joins the global observance of Global Handwashing Day 2026, with the theme “Be a Handwashing Hero,” to promote proper handwashing with soap as a simple yet effective practice for preventing diseases and saving lives.

Celebrated annually on October 15, Global Handwashing Day raises awareness of the importance of hand hygiene in protecting individual and community health. Through this global initiative, learners and school personnel are encouraged to make proper handwashing a regular habit, especially before eating and after using the toilet.

The observance highlights the vital role of handwashing with soap in reducing the spread of germs and preventing illnesses. By practicing proper hand hygiene, learners can help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy school environment.

The celebration was further strengthened by the active participation of the Barangay Kagawads, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and Barangay Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairman Dharylle Jake Alagao, under the leadership of Barangay Captain Hon. JayJay Tugadi of Barangay Gaddani. Their involvement underscores the importance of collaboration between the school and the local government in promoting health awareness, proper hygiene, and disease prevention among learners and the wider community.

The school’s celebration was supported by Mrs. Lorlie Janyn T. Bosas, Wash in Schools (WinS) Coordinator, and Mr. Rober Pietro Cardenas, School Nurse II, who play important roles in promoting health awareness and proper hygiene practices among learners.

As GNHS joins this worldwide campaign, the school, together with its community partners, encourages everyone to become a handwashing hero by practicing proper handwashing consistently and inspiring others to do the same. Through this simple yet life-saving habit and the shared commitment of the school and barangay officials, the community can help build a healthier, safer, and more hygienic environment for all.

TAYUM MPS REINFORCES SAFETY AWARENESS AMONG GNHS STUDENTS

Tayum Municipal Police Station (MPS) continues to promote safety awareness among students of Gaddani National High School (GNHS) by emphasizing the importance of discipline, responsible behavior, and compliance with the law. The short information activity was conducted immediately after the flag ceremony, during which Police Major Fontanilla highlighted key concerns, including va**ng, shooting incidents, bullying, and riding motorcycles without helmets and valid driver’s licenses. The activity aimed to raise students’ awareness of the possible consequences of unsafe and unlawful actions.

The discussion emphasized the importance of making responsible decisions, respecting others, and recognizing how individual actions can affect personal safety and the well-being of the wider school community.
Police Major Fontanilla also highlighted the importance of complying with Republic Act No. 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, which governs motor vehicle operation and driver licensing. Under this law, drivers must possess the appropriate and valid driver’s license when operating a motor vehicle. Motorcycle riders are likewise reminded of the requirement to wear standard protective helmets under Republic Act No. 10054, or the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
Beyond road safety, the police reminders also addressed va**ng, bullying, and shooting incidents. Students were encouraged to stay away from harmful activities, avoid violence, and treat their fellow learners with respect. These reminders served as a call for young people to think carefully about their actions and recognize their responsibilities as members of the school and the community.

Through this initiative, Tayum MPS reinforces the importance of cooperation among the police, school personnel, and students in maintaining a safe, orderly, and peaceful learning environment. Ultimately, the message remains clear: discipline, respect, and responsibility are essential in protecting not only oneself but also the people around us.
