The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Lanao del Norte Provincial Office, led by Cluster Head Mary Jean Quibranza together with the Acting Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Donna Bella F. Aguilar, convened a coordination meeting with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Lanao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office on October 6, 2026. Program Manager Abdullah Alip, LGOO Jaber Talon, and PDDO staff Mohammad were also present during the said meeting. The engagement centered on addressing municipal-level Map Boundary Issues (MBIs) encountered during the implementation of Project 1MAP: One Map for All Projects.
The PSA representatives presented key findings regarding administrative boundary inconsistencies and conflicts identified during the Updating of Boundaries (UB) and Enumeration Area Delineation and Merging (EADM) activities across the province. These boundary datasets serve as a foundational framework for the upcoming 2027 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) and future statistical censuses and surveys conducted by the agency.
During the discussion, the DILG, PSA, and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte emphasized the importance of inter-LGU collaboration in clarifying topological and political/administrative boundary concerns to support the timely completion of mapping operations. PSA officials clarified that the operational boundaries resulting from Project 1MAP are established strictly for statistical and survey purposes and do not constitute formal legal or political determinations.
In response, DILG Lanao del Norte reaffirmed its commitment to facilitate multi-stakeholder mechanisms, guide local chief executives, and coordinate closely with affected municipalities. By streamlining resolution pathways for boundary disputes, the Project 1MAP aims to secure precise geographic data essential for evidence-based local development planning and resource allocation.
