To all our dear teachers, Happy Teachers’ Day!
Teaching has never been and can never truly be just an eight-hour job.
Yes, we have official working hours. But the truth is, a teacher’s work does not end when the bell rings or when we leave the school gate. We bring our learners with us - in our thoughts, in our plans, and sometimes even in our prayers.
We think about the lesson that did not go as planned. We worry about the learner who has been absent, the child who is struggling, and the one who seems to be quietly carrying a problem. We prepare, check, plan, follow up, attend meetings, respond to concerns, and continuously think of ways to make learning better.
But beyond all these tasks, teaching is a profession of heart.
There are days when we are tired, yet we still show up. There are moments when we feel unappreciated, yet we continue to give. And there are times when we wonder if what we do truly matters - until a learner comes back and says, “Ma’am/Sir, thank you. I made it because you believed in me.”
That is when we realize that the hours we give are not simply hours of work. They are pieces of our lives given in the hope that we can help shape another life.
So today, let us not only celebrate the profession. Let us celebrate ourselves - the teachers who continue to give, even when giving is difficult.
May we never forget that behind every lesson is a teacher who cares, behind every learner who succeeds is a teacher who persevered, and behind every school that moves forward are teachers who quietly give more than what is written on their timecards.
Thank you for your dedication, your patience, your sacrifices, and most of all, your heart.
Happy Teachers’ Day, dear teachers. May you always remember that what you do matters - and that somewhere, someday, a learner will remember you not because of the lesson you taught, but because of the life you touched.
