The Mini Warehouse from Project ConVERGE was formally turned over to the Dinuan Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (DARBECO) yesterday, February 17, 2023 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Barangay Dinuan, Salug, Zamboanga del Norte.

The activity was graced by the presence of Municipal Mayor William D. Maribojoc, SB Member Richard N. Pabatao and Resident Auditor Daphane Julalee Cruz. It was also attended by team ZN PPMO, ARBO officers and members and selected barangay officials.

First Stop yesterday:
, Tampilisan, Zamboanga del Norte for the turnover of the Mini Warehouse to the Cabong Tampilisan Multipurpose Cooperative (CATAMCO).

The Mini Warehouse, worth P561,432.71 was turned over to the CATAMCO yesterday, February 17, 2023 for the ARBOs rubber enterprise. This facility is only one of the many support interventions from Project ConVERGE implemented by the DAR.

Gracing the event were Mayor Norabeth T. Carloto, local chief executive of the Municipality of Tampilisan. Sanggunian Bayan Member Lucito Cerna and COA Resident Auditor Daphane Julalee Cruz.

The CATAMCO led by its Chairman Jeonard C. Alabat expressed profound gratitude after accepting another facility from Project ConVERGE. He committed to doing his best to lead in taking care of the facility that will be useful in helping uplift the lives of the members and improving the community.

A Focused Group Discussion (FGD) with the key officers of the lead ARBO, the CATAMCO and two participating ARBOs, the MARBA and the CARBEMCO, is on going today, January 30, 2023 by a team from the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS).

The PIDS team is headed by Rhoelano Briones, Senior Fellow with Isabel Espenili (Research Analyst) and Ivory Myka Galang (Research Associate). The group conducted interviews at two venues to evaluate the benefits derived from the implementation of Project ConVERGE. Apart ftom the benefits, the interviewers solicited ideas from the farmer leaders on other possible interventions from the government that would help sustain their respective rubber enterprises. Accordingly, the result of this FGD will be used in the improved implementation of other government projects in the future. Furthermore, the results of the evaluation will form part of the report to generate as Project ConVERGE has ended.

The activity is facilitated by selected staff of the ZN PPMO.

The IFAD Supervision Implementation Support Mission Team headed by Rural Infrastructure Consultant, Engr. Clovis Ike Payumo congratulated the Cabong Tampilisan Multipurpose Cooperative (CATAMCO) and the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Project Management Team on the exemplary implementation of the Cabong - Tininggaan Farm to Market Road after the assessment conducted in the morning of November 18, 2022 in Tampilisan, Zamboanga del Norte. "The best so far of all the FMRs from Project ConVERGE", said Engr. Payumo.

A focused group discussion was facilitated after the FMR assessment that allowed the ARBO Officers of the CATAMCO to share their experiences, raise their concerns in sustaining the enterprise and express their ways forward after the project closes in December this year.

The ZN PPMO headed by PARPO II Rizzel B. Villanueva welcomed the assessment team. Also present during the activity were Susan Perez from the MLO, Ronald Tolentino of the FASPO, Rosalind Padilla and Jenylen Cuanico from the COA Central Office, Engr. Teresita Anito, RI Coordinator of the CPMO, Engr. Florinda Depamaylo, CARPO/ Regional Project Coordinator, Engr. Alfonso Tan, OIC PARPO I/Provincial Project Coordinator, Organic and Hired Staff of the CPMO/RPMO, PPMO Component Coordinators and Staff and members of the CPOT.

Apart from the FMR assessment, an ocular inspection of the on-going construction of the warehouse was also conducted during the team's visit of the CATAMCO in Barangay Cabong Tampilisan, Zamboanga del Norte.

The IFAD Supervision Implementation Support Mission is simultaneously conducted in Regions 9, 10 and 13 to assess the status of the enterprises of the ARBOs under Project ConVERGE.
