The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of LGU Upi sent three staff to participate in and successfully complete the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (LDRRMP) Training conducted by the Office of Civil Defense–BAR from September 28 to October 1, 2026, at Microtel by Wyndham Hotel, General Santos City.

The training aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in the preparation, updating, and implementation of the LDRRMP, contributing to the municipality’s efforts toward more effective and comprehensive disaster risk reduction and management planning.

LOOK: The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) conducted a monitoring visit to families relocated at Sitio Gilo, Barangay Mirab, as part of the continuing recovery efforts for families affected by Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Paeng.

The housing units were provided by the Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Norte through the PDRRMO in 2025, while the land area was provided by the LGU Upi.

The monitoring focused on checking the families’ current situation and progress as they continue rebuilding their lives. Nine (9) families remain in need of permanent housing, highlighting the continuing need for support toward full recovery and resettlement.
