AN ACT PROMOTING JOB GENERATION AND INCLUSIVE GROWTH THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES

Who should establish the Negosyo Centers in the locality? The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development (MSMED) Council shall encourage public-private partnerships (PPPs) in the establishment and management of Negosyo Centers. Coordination and collaboration with the Local Government Units (LGUs) and other agencies and organizations is imperative to avoid duplication of efforts and to foster coordinated action. Existing Centers may continue to operate as Negosyo Centers subject to the provisions of the “Go Negosyo Act” and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. The Centers will be responsible for promoting “ease of doing business and facilitating access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction”, such as:
a) Business Registration Assistance
b) Business Advisory Services
c) Business Information and Advocacy
d) Monitoring and Evaluation
e) Perform such other functions that may be assigned by the MSMED Council as germane to RA 10644 and other related laws. Who can avail of the services offered by the Negosyo Centers? Any person, natural or juridical, having the qualifications as defined in Section 3 c) of the Republic Act No. 9178 may avail of the services.

DTI, GMB Franchise Developers bring “Smart Franchising 101” to MSMEs nationwide

Expanding a business through franchising comes with opportunities—and risks. For MSMEs looking to take that next step, having the right information can make all the difference.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with GMB Franchise Developers, is bringing “Franchise Experts Talk: Smart Franchising 101,” a free webinar series to MSMEs nationwide.

Rolling out through DTI’s 17 Regional Offices from September to November 2026, the sessions will cover the fundamentals and opportunities in franchising, franchisor and franchisee performance, and key red flags to watch for before entering a franchise agreement.

Through the initiative, DTI and GMB Franchise Developers aim to help MSMEs make informed decisions, expand responsibly, and unlock new avenues for business growth.

Interested participants may coordinate with their respective DTI Regional Offices for schedules and participation details.
