To our Interns:
As you transition from being students to future protectors of the community, remember that leadership is not about the rank on your shoulders, but the respect in your peers' hearts.
A true public servant does not use authority to tower over others, but uses their hands to lift others up. In the field, your stripes may command a salute, but it is the camaraderie and respect you build today that will ensure someone has your back when your life is on the line.
