📢 EDUCATION AND INFORMATION CAMPAIGN ON THE SAFE SPACES ACT

September 10, 2026

Barangay Sinobong, Veruela, Agusan del Sur, successfully conducted an Education and Information Campaign on the Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313), also known as the Bawal Bastos Law.

The activity was facilitated by PMSg Jevy Almacin of PNP-Veruela, who discussed the important provisions of the law, the different forms of gender-based sexual harassment, and the responsibilities of every individual in promoting safe spaces and protecting the dignity and rights of women and all members of the community.

The activity aimed to raise awareness among the residents and encourage everyone to help prevent gender-based sexual harassment in streets, public spaces, workplaces, educational institutions, and online platforms.

The Barangay Local Government Unit of Sinobong extends its sincere appreciation to PNP-Veruela and PSMS Jevy Almacin for sharing their time, knowledge, and valuable information with the community.

Together, let us promote a safe, respectful, and gender-responsive Barangay Sinobong—a community free from all forms of harassment and discrimination.
