𝑩𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑮𝑨𝒀 𝑺𝑨𝑵 𝑴𝑨𝑹𝑪𝑬𝑳𝑰𝑵𝑶, 𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑮𝑹𝑨𝑺, 𝑰𝑳𝑶𝑪𝑶𝑺 𝑵𝑶𝑹𝑻𝑬 - Real and lasting peace is built on a foundation of community welfare, responsive public service, and collective action.

In a powerful demonstration of the Whole-of-Nation Approach, the Alpha Company of the 56th Infantry "Tatag" Battalion, 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, led by TSG WILLIE B MORALES (INF) PA, Company First Sergeant proudly joined forces with various government agencies and stakeholders during the Indigenous Peoples’ Month Celebration and the 29th Anniversary commemoration of the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA) on October 30, 2026.

True to its commitment to inclusive development, the "Tatag" Battalion actively supported multiple grassroots initiatives to uplift our IP brothers and sisters:

Troops assisted in the successful Medical Mission and Feeding Program spearheaded by the Department of Health (DOH) Region I, led by DR PRINCESS ANN BAGCAL, DMD. The joint initiative delivered essential healthcare services and nourishing meals directly to the residents and IP families.

As part of the Battalion’s continuous Civil-Military Operations (CMO), skilled Tatag personnel provided free haircut services, bringing practical relief and fostering warm, meaningful engagement with the IP beneficiaries.

Walking the talk on conservation, the troops participated in a tree-planting activity facilitated by the IP community under Tribal Chieftain MR DANNY MAGNO. This green initiative was made possible through close collaboration with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) headed by MR JOSELITO F PIDLOAN, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Ilocos Norte, led by MS JESSIE ANN AQUINO.

To ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration, a dedicated security team led by SGT SANDY R PALSIMON (INF) PA rendered area security throughout the event. This was seamlessly executed in tandem with the Dingras Municipal Police Station and the active cooperation of the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of San Marcelino.

These multi-sectoral efforts perfectly align with the Battalion's core line of effort in SUSTAINING INTERNAL SECURITY GAINS, proving that security initiatives are strongest when complemented by heartfelt community service and solid inter-agency partnerships.

By standing shoulder-to-shoulder with local government units, national agencies, the PNP, and our Indigenous Peoples, the 56IB remains your dependable partner in improving lives, earning public trust, and nurturing lasting peace and progress across Ilocos Norte.
