City General Services Office - Zamboanga

The City General Services Office successfully re-installed solar streetlights affected by the road widening along Brgy Boalan, ensuring improved public safety, better illumination, and reliable renewable energy infrastructure.

The City General Services Office, through Task Force Alambre, conducted the clearing and rationalization of overhead utility lines along Baliwasan–Tabuk, in compliance with the mandate of City Mayor Capt. Khymer Adan T. Olaso, M.M.

This activity forms part of the City Government’s continuing efforts to promote public safety, enhance urban order, and address hazards posed by tangled and sagging cables along public roads.

RENEWED 'SPAGHETTI' WIRE CLEARING OPS KICK OFF IN ZAMBO CITY| Mayor Khymer Olaso has directed personnel from telecommunication, cable and power companies, together with the city government team, to instensify efforts against dangling and tangled "spaghetti wires" in Zamboanga City as operations began Monday, September 15, in the most affected areas.

In a meeting held at City Hall press briefing room, Mayor Olaso expressed confidence the team's capacity to deliver, stressing that their unified effort is crucial to public safety and to improving Zamboanga City's overall appearance.

The mayor instructed the City General Services Office (CGSO), Task Force Ordinance (TFO), City Engineer's Office (CEO) and utility providers to begin inspections in barangays Zone IV, Canelar, Pasonanca, Baliwasan, Veterans Avenue, Tumaga, Guiwan and other identified areas.

Meanwhile, Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Mayor Celso Lobregat appealed for full cooperation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining an organized and orderly city.

Olaso highlighted that the initiative is vital not solely for public safety but also for ensuring reliable telecommunication and power services. He cautioned that without active participation from service providers, the city's efforts would fall short of lasting results.

Both Olaso and Lobregat assured that operations will continue until all affected areas are thoroughly inspected and the spaghetti wires are completely cleared, reflecting the present administration's commitment to safety and a more orderly Zamboanga.

• Zamboanga City Tree House at Jose Atilano Campsite

Operations will resume March 30, 2024 (Saturday).

Nonetheless, the parking space at the Jardin Maria Clara Complex will remain open all throughout the Holy Week.
