The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) warns the public regarding reports of an individual falsely impersonating the Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard (CPCG) through phone call.

The PCG clarifies that these phone calls are fraudulent and unauthorized. The CPCG does not engage in such communications for personal, financial, or unofficial purposes, nor does he solicit monetary assistance through calls or any other means.

All PCG personnel are likewise reminded to exercise vigilance and refrain from engaging with or responding to unverified calls that may compromise the integrity and credibility of the organization.

The PCG is currently coordinating with concerned authorities to investigate the incident and to pursue appropriate legal action against those responsible.

The PCG reiterates its commitment to protecting the public and upholding trust by ensuring the dissemination of accurate and verified information.

The Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) is implementing 𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 𝐁𝐈𝐘𝐀𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐘𝐎𝐒: 𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀 & 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑 𝐕𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 2026, to ensure the safety, security, and convenience of the traveling public during the observance of Holy Week and the summer vacation period from 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 28 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 05, 2026.

Passengers may seek assistance at the nearest Coast Guard Stations within Zamboanga Peninsula. Hotline numbers, official social media pages, and email addresses are available to ensure quick communication and response.

The Philippine Coast Guard gently reminds the public that maritime safety is a shared responsibility, and urges everyone to remain prepared and vigilant during the observance of Holy Week.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Commo Rejard V Marfe PCG, Commander, Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao, attended the convening ceremony of the Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course Class 120 2026—composed of 687 male trainees—on 24 March 2026 at the Regional Training Center (RTC) Zamboanga, Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport, Sinubong, Zamboanga City.

Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC), presided over the ceremony and entrusted LCDR Argie B Lubon PCG, Director, RTC Zamboanga, and LTJG Tristan Joseph P Zulueta PCG, Course Director, CGNOC Class 120 2026, to instill discipline, resilience, and the Philippine Coast Guard core values.

Also present were Capt Anuar G Inidal PCG, Deputy Commander, CGDSWM, alongside other officers and stakeholders who supported this milestone marking the formation of the new Coast Guardians.

The visit highlighted the value of inter-agency cooperation, strengthening PCG–AFP ties in protecting the nation’s maritime frontiers.

Also present were Commo Rejard V Marfe PCG, Commander, Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) together with Capt Anuar G Inidal PCG, Deputy Commander, CGDSWM and other officers.

Marking the close of Ramadan—a season of prayer, sacrifice, and renewal—this sacred occasion unites us in gratitude and faith. The Philippine Coast Guard stands with our Muslim brothers and sisters in Zamboanga Peninsula, reaffirming our shared commitment to peace, unity, and service to the nation.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) held its 4th Monday Morning Colors on March 23, 2026, at Headquarters CGDSWM, Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport, Sitio San Ramon, Barangay Talisayan, Zamboanga City.

In honor of National Women’s Month, CPO Shermalyn A Abubakar PCG, Chief-Master-At-Arms, District Support Group (DSG), delivered an inspiring message that reflected this year’s theme: “𝑾𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅, 𝑾𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆, 𝑾𝒆 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓: 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝑵𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆.” She paid tribute to trailblazers, mentors, and everyday heroes who continue to prove that leadership knows no gender.

The Philippine Coast Guard proudly honors the women of today—the modern-day “Babaylan”—and reaffirms its unwavering commitment to empowering female personnel across the Zamboanga Peninsula, ensuring their courage and compassion remain at the forefront of service.
