In line with its commitment to promoting community health and wellness, the 905th (Zamboanga City) Community Defense Center, under the leadership of Lieut. Col. Husain A Esmael (INF) PA, Director, provided crucial manpower support for a 5th Free Diabetic Screening and Medical Outreach as part of the Civil-Military Operation (CMO) effort utilizing the personnel of the 9051st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) on May 16, 2025.

The said activity was spearheaded by the Zamboanga Court Order No. 30, Order of the Amaranth Sweet Fraternity held at Brgy. Lunzuran, Zamboanga City. The event resulted in 27 beneficiaries receiving free diabetic screening.

Through this activity, many individuals were able to check their blood sugar levels, learn more about diabetes prevention, and become more aware of the importance of regular health screening.

BCMT Information Drive - Their Journey towards Becoming a Reservist Starts Here!

The 905th Community Defense Center, 9RCDG, RESCOM, PA successfully conducted an Information Drive regarding the recruitment process for the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) to the civilian volunteers from Barangay Bolong on May 11, 2026 at Barangay Hall of Bolong, Zamboanga City.

The activity aimed to encourage qualified individuals to serve the nation by becoming part of the reserve force and to provide accurate information regarding the training, qualifications, and benefits of joining the program. It also highlighted the role of citizen soldiers in supporting humanitarian assistance, disaster response operations, and national defense efforts.

During the orientation, participants were briefed on the qualifications and requirements for applicants, the duration and phases of training, and the responsibilities of reservists once they complete the course.

An open forum was conducted to address questions and concerns from the attendees regarding enlistment procedures, training schedules, and opportunities for personal and professional development within the reserve force.

The Information Drive concluded successfully with a positive response from participants, many of whom expressed their interest in joining the upcoming BCMT program. The activity strengthened awareness about the significance of citizen participation in nation-building and community resilience.

Reservist Take Away Program Enhances Firearm Knowledge Through M16 Rifle Assemble and Disassemble

The 905th Community Defense Center under the leadership of Lieut. Col. Husain A Esmael (INF) PA, facilitated the lecture on Assemble and Disassemble of M16 Rifle conducted by Master Sergeant Rodolfo Sison PA (Retired), Sergeant Major of 9051st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion at Headquarters, 905th CDC, Camp Arturo T Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga City on May 10, 2026.

The lecture on the M16 rifle is a valuable component of the Reservist Take Away Program. It equips participants with basic military knowledge, promotes discipline and safety, and prepares reservists for their role as citizen-soldiers.

In addition to technical knowledge, the lecture teaches discipline, responsibility, and teamwork. The lecture encourages respect for military procedures.

Beyond learning how to operate a rifle, reservists gain a deeper understanding of responsibility, patriotism, and service to the nation.
