Zamboanga City | HONORING MILESTONES THROUGH SERVICE: LIFE-SAVING BLOOD LETTING ACTIVITY IN CELEBRATION OF 2LSG AND IT'S SUB-UNITS’ FOUNDING ANNIVERSARIES

On 13 April 2026, a Blood Letting Activity was successfully conducted at Camp General Arturo T Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga City, in partnership with the Zamboanga City Medical Center.

At the forefront of this meaningful initiative was COL CLARENCE C GARRIDO QMS (MNSA) PA, Group Commander, 2nd Logistics Support Group, Support Command, Philippine Army, whose leadership and vision were instrumental in spearheading the activity. This undertaking formed part of the dual celebration of the 9th Founding Anniversary of 2LSG, SPTCOM, PA, and the 3rd Founding Anniversary of its subordinate units: the 2nd Supply Battalion, 2nd Transportation Battalion, 2nd Maintenance Battalion, and 2nd Armament and Ammunition Battalion.

The activity was conducted under the close supervision of LTC IVY L MURILLO OS (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 2nd Armament and Ammunition Battalion, whose guidance ensured the smooth, safe, and orderly ex*****on of the entire event. Through effective coordination with participating units and partner agencies, the activity was carried out with professionalism and efficiency.

Personnel from various units actively participated, demonstrating a strong commitment to humanitarian service and community engagement. The partnership with Zamboanga City Medical Center played a vital role in ensuring adherence to proper medical protocols and the overall success of the activity.

More than a commemorative undertaking, this blood letting activity reflects the steadfast dedication of the Philippine Army to service beyond the call of duty. It underscores the importance of collective action in saving lives and supporting the healthcare needs of the community.

Indeed, through the leadership of COL GARRIDO QMS (MNSA) PA and the unified efforts of all involved, the activity stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of service, cooperation, and bayanihan.

EMPOWERING MINDS. STRENGTHENING EQUALITY.

In celebration of The National Women's Month CY 2026. the 2nd Armament and Ammunition Battalion, 2LSG, SPTCOM, PA conducted a Women and Men's Forum for the unit's personnel, reaffirming its commitment to promote awareness, respect and inclusivity within the organization.

In partnership with PAFCPIC Zamboanga, led by Ms. Lelibeth F. Danial, the PAFCPIC Satellite Office Head, the activity was enriched by the presence of Prof. Marife Rosalejos-Villafranca of the Zamboanga State College of Marine Science and Technology (ZSCMST), who served as the resource speaker. Prof. Villafranca shared valuable knowledge and insights on the Gender and Development (GAD), inspiring participants to continue fostering a culture of equality, empowerment and mutual respect.

During the closing Ceremony, LTC IVY L MURILLO OS (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 2AABN, delivered her message of appreciation, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Villafranca, as resource speaker and PAFCPIC for their support in making the forum meaningful and impactful.

“2nd Armament and Ammunition Battalion Promotes Environmental Conservation through Mangrove Tree Planting Activity”

Zamboanga City – The 2nd Armament and Ammunition Battalion conducted a Mangrove Tree Planting activity led by LTC IVY L MURILLO OS (GSC) PA Commanding Officer on 28 February 2026 at Brgy Talon – Talon, Zamboanga City together with representatives from TESDA RTC Zamboanga Peninsula and personnel from 2STM Battalion, 2LSG, SPTCOM, PA.

The mangrove planting activity was successfully conducted and contributed to environmental protection and coastal rehabilitation. The activity enhanced awareness among participants on the importance of mangroves in preventing coastal erosion, protecting marine biodiversity, and mitigating the effects of climate change.

The participation of personnel and stakeholders demonstrated strong support for environmental conservation initiatives. Overall, the activity promoted teamwork, community involvement, and long-term sustainability of coastal ecosystems and community partnership reflects values that align with the Armed Forces’ broader mission of nation-building and sustainable development, promoting cooperation, trust, and shared responsibility between the military and the communities it serves.

The 2nd Armament and Ammunition Battalion (2AABn) proudly stood with the people of Zamboanga City during the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) Parade, joining civilians, government agencies, and advocates in a united call to protect women and uphold their rights.

Violence against women is not just a private issue, it is a community concern that affects families, weakens communities, and hinders progress. By participating in this meaningful campaign, 2AABn reaffirms its commitment to being more than a military unit, we strive to be a reliable partner of the community, raising awareness, promoting safety, and supporting initiatives that empower women and ensure they live free from fear and harm.

2nd Armament and Ammunition Battalion joins the Nationwide Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

The 2nd Armament and Ammunition Battalion led by 1LT ROSARIO P ROLDAN (OS) PA, GAD Officer of this unit with 2nd Supply Battalion and 2nd Maintenance Battalion, 2LSG, SPTCOM, PA together with Ms. Desiree G. Camara from the Zamboanga City Social Welfare and Development Office, joins and stands in firm solidarity with the national call to end Violence Against Women (VAW). As defenders of peace and protectors of the Filipino people, we recognize that true security begins at home and within our communities where women and children should always feel safe, valued, and free from harm.

Violence Against Women is not just a private or isolated issue it is a serious human rights violation that affects families, weakens communities, and hinders the nation’s progress. Whether physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, or economic, every form of abuse destroys dignity and leaves wounds that can last a lifetime.

Today, our battalion strengthens its commitment to awareness, education, and proactive involvement in the fight against VAW. Through information drives, advocacy initiatives, and community engagement activities, we aim to empower individuals to speak up, seek help, and take a stand against all forms of abuse.
