On 170900H May 2026, the Metro Zampen College Incorporated (MCZI) ROTC Unit, together with the Ferndale College Zampen Incorporated (FCZPI) ROTC Unit, under the leadership of LTC Husain A. Esmael (INF) PA, ROTCU Commandant and Director of the 905th Community Defense Center (CDC), successfully conducted the Joint Graduation Ceremony of Basic and Advance ROTC Cadets for School Year 2025–2026 at Camp Arturo T. Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga City.
The ceremony formally recognized the successful completion of training of the Basic and Advance ROTC Cadets, marking an important milestone in their ROTC journey and preparation as future reservists. The activity was attended by military personnel, reservists, ROTC officers, cadets, and school representatives in support of the graduating cadets.
The program started with the singing of the National Anthem through an Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP) followed by an invocation led by MSg Ruel L. Ursal (INF) PA, First Sergeant/Chief Clerk. Ms. Diana Opendo Reyes, RCRIM, MZCI Criminology Intern Adviser, delivered the welcome remarks, warmly acknowledging the guests, officials, and graduating cadets.
The presentation of candidates for graduation was conducted by Sgt Roldan G. Magtagad (AGS) PA, Admin NCO of MZCI and FCZPI ROTCU, followed by the declaration of graduates led by LTC Husain A. Esmael (INF) PA. Certificates and awards were then distributed to deserving cadets, assisted by Ms. Diana Opendo Reyes, RCRIM and Ms. Ann Chris R. Gregorio, RCRIM, NSTP Coordinator of FCZPI ROTCU.
An important part of the ceremony was the acceptance and oath-taking of ROTC graduates as reservists, administered by MAJ Hendrick C. Abad QMS PA (RES), Battalion Commander of the 9051st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, symbolizing the cadets’ commitment to service and national defense.
The highlight of the activity was the inspirational message delivered by the Guest of Honor and Speaker, LTC Brendo C. Maglasang GSC (INF) PA, Acting Executive Officer of Task Force Zamboanga, 1ID, PA, who encouraged the graduates to uphold discipline, leadership, and patriotism as they continue their journey as responsible citizens and reservists. The ceremony concluded with the singing of “Awit Kawal” and “Pilipinas Kong Mahal” through AVP, signifying unity, patriotism, and dedication to service.

The Metro Zampen College Incorporated (MCZI) and Ferndale College Zampen College Incorporated (FZCPI) ROTC Units under the supervision of Lieut. Col. Husain A Esmael, Commandant welcomed Col. Arnold S Gasalatan, Group Commander of the 9th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army during his official visit to the said unit on May 07, 2026.
During the visit, the ROTC cadets gathered for an inspiring and informative session as Col Gasalatan delivered a motivational talk focused on leadership, discipline, and service to the nation. He also encourage the cadets to strengthen their commitment to the values and responsibilities of the ROTC program.
Following the talk to the cadets, and as part of the official engagement, Col. Gasalatan also paid a courtesy call to the President of the said institution. During the meeting, both officials discussed the continued support and development of the ROTC program, emphasizing its role as a future leaders.
The President of the said Institutions expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing well-trained and responsible cadets.
The visit of the Group Commander to the ROTC Unit concluded successfully, leaving the cadets inspired and motivated to uphold the values of discipline, leadership, and service. The Group Commander’s guidance and encouragement served as a reminder of the vital role of ROTC in shaping responsible future leaders committed to serving the nation.
