In celebration of Farmers and Fisherfolk Month, the PFDA-Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (ZFPC) recognizes the hardworking fisherfolk, laborers, traders, and port workers whose dedication keeps the fisheries industry moving and helps sustain communities every day.

At the heart of these daily efforts is the PFDA-ZFPC Fish Port and Landing Quay, where municipal bancas and commercial fishing vessels safely dock after long journeys at sea. More than a docking and unloading area, it serves as an important space where fish catches are handled, traded, and prepared for distribution to local markets and communities.

Behind every fish box unloaded and every catch delivered are individuals whose hard work supports livelihoods, food security, and economic activity in the region. Through organized port operations and accessible facilities, PFDA-ZFPC continues to support fisherfolk and fisheries stakeholders by helping improve fish handling, trading, and post-harvest activities.

This Farmers and Fisherfolk Month, we recognize the people behind every catch and reaffirm our commitment to strengthening the fisheries sector through reliable facilities and services for the Zamboanga fishing community.

LOOK: THE 1ST QUARTER 2026 ISSUE OF THE PFDA REVIEW IS OUT NOW!

The light streak across the cover offers a fitting visual cue for the opening of the PFDA Review’s seventh volume and its first issue for 2026. Like a beam catching movement in the middle of a busy fish port, these light streaks reflect energy, direction, and a fresh start.

Also on the cover is a vivid scene showing how fresh catch are handled with skill and speed. The image captures not only the movement of fish from boat to market, it mirrors the dedication of fish port workers whose daily efforts help
sustain food supply and livelihood for their communities.

This issue highlights stories from the ground, featuring the people behind PFDA’s operations and services. From tales of perseverance to the technical work that showcases the many hands and minds that contribute to a more reliable and responsive fisheries sector.
