The Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE) joins the observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) from November 25 to December 12, 2025, in solidarity with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the national government’s efforts to uphold the rights, dignity, and safety of all women and girls.

As an agency committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and empowering workplace and community, the Authority reaffirms its dedication to promote gender equality and prevention of all forms of gender-based violence.

The ZAMBOECOZONE encourages all employees, locators, partners, and stakeholders to take active part in this advocacy by increasing awareness, reporting abuses, and supporting initiatives that protect and uplift women.

Together, let us help build a community where women are free from violence, discrimination, and fear.

On the 30th day of October 2025, the 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗭𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗢𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘) enjoined in the observance of the National Day of Charity proclaimed by His Excellency Ferdinand “Bongbong” Romualdez Marcos Jr. pursuant to Proclamation No. 598, issued by the Office of the President, declaring the 30th day of every year as a day of helping others in need.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗘𝘅-𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗭𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗢𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀

The Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE) 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗠. 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗮 sworn in the new Ex-Officio members of the Authority’s Board of Directors on different occasions. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7903, otherwise known as the ZAMBOECOZONE Act of 1995, the Ex-Officio members are the City’s District 1 Congressional Representative, the City Mayor, and the representative of the City Council who are all voting members of the Board.

The new Board members are City Mayor 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗞𝗵𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗧. 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗼, who previously represented the City Council in the August body; 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗮-𝗧𝗮𝗶 First District Representative; and 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗥𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴, City Council Representative being Chairman of the City Council on Trade, Commerce, and Industry.

The addition of these distinguished officials to the ZAMBOECOZONE Board marks a significant development in the organizations leadership structure and its continued commitment to advancing the economic zone's mandates. Chairman and Administrator Regondola said, “The Authority is honored and privileged to welcome such distinguished public servants to the Board. Together, we remain committed to advancing the economic zone for the benefit of both Zamboanga City and its citizens.”

𝗭𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗢𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗠. 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗮 turned over another check to Mayor Khymer Adan T. Olaso as part of the City’s share in the economic zone’s operation on 8 October 2025 in the Mayor’s Office in City Hall. The turned-over check amounted to 𝗣𝗵𝗣𝟯.𝟬𝟮-𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Pursuant to Republic Act 7903, otherwise known as the ZAMBOECOZONE Act of 1995, business establishments, through the Authority, shall remit to the City of Zamboanga Three (3) percent of its gross income, to be allocated as follows: 2% to the LGU and 1% to the Barangay Special Development Plan.

Mayor Olaso extended his thanks and gratitude to the Authority and congratulated Chairman Regondola for the various improvements in the economic zone.

Previously, a check amounting to PhP2.00-million was turned-over during the City Government flag raising ceremony on 11 August 2025.

Pre-Qualification Conference for San Ramon Newport Project Conducted by ZAMBOECOZONE and PPP Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines

The Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE), together with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center, hosted a Pre-Qualification Conference on 19 September 2025 for the San Ramon Newport Project (SRNP). During the meeting at the PPP Center Boardroom, participants were informed regarding the project and the pre-qualification criteria.

Submission of the Pre-qualification documents is scheduled on 15 October 2025 with final bids scheduled in March 2026.
Interested parties who wish to pre-qualify and bid may also refer to the Invitation to Pre-Qualify and Bid may visit the PPP Center website: https://ppp.gov.ph.

Prior to this activity, an Investors’ Conference was held on 20 August 2025 at the Joy-Nostalg Hotel and Suites in Ortigas Center, Metro Manila, wherein the PhP14.823-billion San Ramon Newport Project (SRNP) was presented to potential bidders. It highlighted the transparent bidding process for the SRNP, which shall be fully funded by the investor without direct government investment. Interested bidders are required to meet a minimum net worth of PhP14.5-billion and other technical requirements.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝗨𝗽 𝗗𝗮𝘆! This event was a powerful testament to our shared commitment to environmental stewardship, as we celebrated 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 (𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔 𝗠𝗼) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱.

The theme, “𝙉𝙖𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙖𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙪𝙖𝙣, 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙜 𝙣𝙖 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙣,” truly came to life as volunteers from the 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗭𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗢𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘) and our partner communities worked together to clean our precious shorelines.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every individual who dedicated their time and effort. Your hands-on service not only helped clean our coast but also strengthened our community's resolve to protect our seas and islands for future generations.

As His Excellency Ferdinand “Bongbong” Romualdez Marcos Jr. shared in his message for MANA Mo, this work is about "caring for our seas and shores, for we care to protect not only our nation's sovereignty but also those who will inherit our legacy."
