MARATHON TECHNICAL HEARINGS FOR 2024 BUDGET START| Mayor John Dalipe and the City Finance Committee commence marathon hearings in preparation for the 2024 Executive Budget and its eventual submission to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for approval.

The technical budget hearing follows the Executive Budget Forum conducted last July 12 where department heads and representatives from civil society organizations discussed the need to program the proposed 2024 budget according to priorities.

The proposed budget for Fiscal year 2024 is approximately P5.2B.

The marathon technical hearing commenced Monday, August 14 and will wrap up Wednesday, August 16. It is aimed to assess and evaluate the proposals of the different city departments, national high schools and Trial Courts and other agencies subsidized by the local government.

The first day of hearing involved the general public/ economic services sectors in the morning and the social services/ general public services sector which include the different city departments as well as the Sangguniang Panlungsod, different economic enterprises, Colegio de la Ciudad de Zamboanga, some divisions under the Office of the City Mayor and the peace and order program among others.

The second day hearing will involve the different national high schools, the Regional Trial Court and Municipal Court branches and the Shari'a District Court as well as Office of the City Prosecutor.

Discussions center on the requirements for maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE).

The third day of the hearing, meanwhile, will involve the economic services sector focusing on infrastructure projects.
