The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) shall be the primary policy, planning, coordinating, implementing, and administrative entity of the Executive Branch of the government that will plan, develop, and promote the national ICT development agenda. (RA 10844)

โ€ข To deliver the required ICT products and services according to mutually agreed terms and conditions and existing applicable statutory and regulatory requirements;
โ€ข To ensure the effective implementation, compliance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System in order to meet customer requirements; and

ISABELA CITY, BASILAN โ€” As part of the celebration of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, DICT Basilan conducted Cyber Hygiene Sessions for MSMEs and students on October 6 and 7, 2026, at the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Basilan, promoting safer and more responsible digital practices.

The sessions highlighted the importance of protecting personal and business information, practicing safe online habits, recognizing cyber threats, and securing digital accounts and devices.

Through these learning sessions, participants gained practical knowledge to help them stay vigilant, protect their digital identities, and navigate the online world more safely.

ISABELA CITY, BASILAN โ€” As part of the ICT Skills Training of the DICT Basilan, a session on Creating Reels for Business was conducted on October 6, 2026, at DTC Basilan, gathering 19 MSMEs from the HAPISABIDA Entrepreneurship/Livelihood Program of PESO Isabela City.

The session equipped participants with practical skills in creating engaging short-form videos for product promotion. After the discussion, they put their learning into action through a group hands-on activity, creating 30-second promotional Reels featuring their sample products.

The activity provided MSMEs with practical digital skills they can use to showcase their products, engage customers, and strengthen their online presence.

ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE โ€“ The DICT Regional Office IX and BASULTA continues to carry out field data validation covering LGUs in Zamboanga del Norte to align ICT datasets for better, responsive, and more accurate planning for digital advancement initiatives.

The field validation is part of the Mapping and Analytics Planning in ICT (MAP-IT) initiative of the National ICT Planning, Policy, and Standards Bureau (NIPPSB). For the Zamboanga del Norte leg, the team has engaged with the LGUs of Sibutad, Polanco, Mutia, Rizal, La Libertad, Piรฑan, Jose Dalman, Tampilisan, Leon Postigo, Salug, Kalawit, and Godod.

These activities form part of the National ICT Data Management Program which seeks to improve the accuracy and availability of ICT-related data for the purpose of enhancing regional database and support evidence-based planning and decision-making.
