𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: In line with the directives of the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC), the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 (𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗚 𝗦𝗪𝗠), with the support of the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM), deployed additional personnel to support the implementation of 𝙊𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝘽𝙮𝙖𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙮𝙤𝙨: 𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙠 𝙀𝙨𝙠𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the Passenger Terminal, Port of Zamboanga.

As part of the operation, MARSLEG SWM augments security and passenger Assistance Efforts at the Passenger Assistance Center (PAC) alongside the Coast Guard Station Zamboanga and other government agencies to help ensure the safety and convenience of travelers. To further enhance port and maritime security, MARSLEG SWM also deployed its Coast Guard K9 Team with Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) and Narcotics Detection Dog (NDD) capabilities, as well as additional Coast Guard Sea Marshals Unit SWM to support security screening and safeguard passengers throughout their journey.

MARSLEG SWM remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard maritime transportation hubs and protect the welfare of the traveling public through proactive security operations and public service.

𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗚-𝗦𝗪𝗠 | 𝗖𝗚𝗞𝟵 𝗗𝗛𝗦𝗧𝗖 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝟬𝟵-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 🐕‍🦺

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: In the recently concluded 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘎𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘒9 𝘋𝘰𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦 (𝘊𝘎𝘒9 𝘋𝘏𝘚𝘛𝘊) 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴 09-2025, held under the Coast Guard K9-Explosive Ordnance Disposal Force (CGK9-EODF), two (2) of the twenty-five (25) students who successfully completed the course were personnel from the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 (𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗚 𝗦𝗪𝗠) – 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗦𝗪𝗠: PO2 Erwing B Cao PCG and PO3 Jerrald Earl D Patacsil PCG.

Their successful completion of the rigorous training program reflects their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to enhancing the operational capabilities of the Philippine Coast Guard's K9 force.

Adding honor to the achievement of MARSLEG SWM, 𝗣𝗢𝟮 𝗘𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕 𝗖𝗮𝗼 𝗣𝗖𝗚 distinguished himself by earning the 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 in both academic and non-academic modules among all twenty-five (25) members of 𝘾𝙂𝙆9 𝘿𝙃𝙎𝙏𝘾 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨 09-2025. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to his exceptional performance, discipline, determination, and pursuit of excellence throughout the course.

The graduation ceremony was held on 𝟮𝟭 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the Headquarters, Coast Guard K9-EOD Force, Coast Guard Base Taguig, New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, as part of the Joint Graduation Ceremony of CGK9 DHSTC Class 09-2025 and the Convening Ceremony of CGK9 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Course (CGK9 EODC) Class 04-2026.

The said activity was participated by personnel from MARSLEG SWM and its sub-units with other participants joining virtually through Google Meet platform.

The activity aimed to strengthen awareness and understanding of the updated policies governing the responsible and professional use of social media and online platforms by PCG personnel. It also emphasized the importance of discipline, accountability, and proper representation of the Philippine Coast Guard in the digital space.

MARSLEG SWM remains committed to promoting responsible online engagement and upholding the integrity and professionalism of the Philippine Coast Guard at all times.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 : In line with the directives of the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) for the maintenance of a Quick Response Team (QRT), the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 (𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗚 𝗦𝗪𝗠), and with the support of the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM), continuously deploys its 𝘿𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙇𝙖𝙬 𝙀𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢 to ensure maritime safety and security within its area of responsibility.

The team is composed of specialized personnel from the various sub-units of MARSLEG SWM, namely the CGK9 Field Operating Unit with Search and Rescue, Narcotics and Explosive Detection Dogs capabilities, CG Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Unit, CG Sea Marshal Unit, CG Security and Board Protection Unit, CG Investigation and Detection Unit, and CG Surface Patrol Unit.

Through the combined expertise and capabilities of these specialized units, the team remains prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any maritime security threat, serving as first responders in safeguarding the maritime domain and protecting the public.

The Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group Southwestern Mindanao (MARSLEG SWM), with the steadfast support of Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM), assures the public of its continued commitment to maritime security, and law enforcement through proactive operations and strengthened inter-agency coordination.

Despite the holiday observance, MARSLEG SWM personnel remain on duty and committed to their mandate through the conduct of K9 paneling, sea marshaling operations, radiation detector inspections, vehicle inspections, foot patrols, and thorough checking of documents and cargoes of transport vehicles entering and departing port areas.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 (𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗚 𝗦𝗪𝗠), an operational control unit of the 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 (𝗖𝗚𝗗𝗦𝗪𝗠), conducted afternoon calisthenics at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex, Normal Road, Zamboanga City, on 30 April 2026.

The activity aimed to promote physical fitness, discipline, camaraderie, and operational readiness among personnel. Through regular physical conditioning activities, MARSLEG SWM continues to strengthen the health and morale of its workforce in support of its mandate of ensuring maritime security, and law enforcement in the region.

On April 21, 2026, the 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗞𝟵 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗮 conducted an intensified K9 paneling operation utilizing both Explosive Detection Dogs (EDD) and Narcotics Detection Dogs (NDD) capabilities at the Port of Isabela, Isabela City.

The activity forms part of the Coast Guard’s intensified security measures to prevent the entry and transport of explosives, illegal drugs, and other prohibited items within port premises. The K9 units, trained for high-level detection capabilities, were deployed to inspect cargo, baggage, and key areas to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.

The Coast Guard encourages all passengers, port workers, and stakeholders to remain alert and continue supporting security procedures. Through proactive measures such as K9 paneling, the PCG through the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) strengthen its commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and the maritime environment.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: On April 20, 2026, the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 (𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗚 𝗦𝗪𝗠) under the operational control of 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 (𝗖𝗚𝗗𝗦𝗪𝗠) participated in the successful joint rescue and interception operation for alleged victim of Human Trafficking at Taha Wharf, Baliwasan, Zamboanga City.

The operation was carried out in coordination with Coast Guard Station Zamboanga, Coast Guard Intelligence Group Southwestern Mindanao, Coast Guard Intelligence Group BARMM, PNP PRO9, intelligence operatives from the Philippine Marines, 904th Company RMFB9, RMU9, DSWD Field Office IX, ZC-MARPSTA, and CSWDO Zamboanga City. It was also conducted in coordination with the Regional Director and City Director of PRO9, and DMW Region IX, with the active support of RACETTF9/SBATTF9, RIACAT9, and Project Rescue Children Philippines. The operation resulted in the rescue of fifteen (15) alleged victims of trafficking in persons: six (6) females, eight (8) males, all of legal age, and one (1) minor. The victims were intercepted onboard M/L Alhazeeb and were reportedly bound for Taganak Island, Tawi-Tawi via an illegal backdoor route. This operation was conducted in line with the enforcement of 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙘𝙩 𝙉𝙤. 9208, 𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙍𝘼 10364 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙍𝘼 11862, 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝘼𝙣𝙩𝙞-𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 2022.

The rescued individuals were immediately brought to the WCPC-MFU Office for initial investigation and subsequently be turned over to DSWD Field Office IX at the Processing Center for Displaced Persons (PCDP) in Mampang, Zamboanga City for temporary shelter, assessment, and further assistance.

Authorities remain committed to combating human trafficking and ensuring the safety and protection of vulnerable individuals.
