Hon. Hadzri H. Matba, Local Chief Executive of South Ubian, joined fellow Local Chief Executives of Tawi-Tawi in the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW IX), Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE), and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) BARMM.

Held at Rachel’s Place in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, the ceremony marks a unified step toward enhancing programs and services for migrant workers and their families.

The Provincial Government of Tawi-Tawi informs the public that the moon was not sighted on February 17, 2026. Thus, the 1st day of Ramadan will be observed on February 19, 2026.

The Local Government Unit of South Ubian, headed by Local Chief Executive Hadzri H. Matba, conducted the mandatory First Quarter meetings on Peace and Order and Public Safety in collaboration with the Local Special Bodies. The activity was facilitated by MLGOO Ayesha Manding, with the support of the Sangguniang Bayan members led by Vice Mayor Rofaida A. Matba.

All 31 barangays of South Ubian were fully represented and actively participated in the meeting. Each barangay presented their 2025 Accomplishment Report and their Three-Year Development Plan through prepared PowerPoint presentations.

During the Local Special Bodies meeting, representatives from various agencies and councils also presented their respective 2025 accomplishment reports, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Marines, Rural Health Unit (RHU), MBHTE, MSSD, and MAFAR.

From the Municipal Government, Dr. Alhambra Ladjahiran, Municipal Health Officer, presented the accomplishments and upcoming activities of the health office. Likewise, Ahmed Muhsin, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer and MADAC Focal Person, shared his office’s accomplishments and planned initiatives.

The meeting concluded with an open forum where concerns and issues were raised by the participants and were properly addressed by the Municipal Government, reinforcing its commitment to peace, order, and public safety in the municipality of South Ubian.
