APBF held its board meeting at Lahore Gymkhana, bringing together esteemed members to chart the course for the future.

APBF President, Mr. Syed Maaz Mahmood, warmly welcomed everyone, setting the tone for a productive discussion. The meeting was chaired by APBF Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Qureshi, who led the session with great enthusiasm.

The members took a moment to reflect on APBF's journey in 2025, celebrating achievements and learning from challenges. The focus then shifted to 2026, with insightful discussions on emerging opportunities and addressing key issues. Together, they identified strategies to boost APBF's impact, foster growth, and strengthen ties within the business community.

Additionally, APBF President Mr. Maaz and Chairman Mr. Ibrahim had a meeting with Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy, Mr. Zachary Harkenrider in Islamabad. They appreciated APBF's efforts and expressed interest in organizing a business conference with APBF.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to APBF's mission.

All Pakistan Business Forum (APBF) meeting at Pakistan Consulate General Office Manchester United Kingdom 🇬🇧. APBF President Syed Maaz Mahmood met Mr. Owais Hussain Farooqi, Commercial Attaché of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Manchester, UK. During their discussion, Mr. Farooqi revealed plans to organize significant events to engage business communities of UK and Pakistan in January 2026. The APBF has pledged to facilitate and support all these initiatives to increase bilateral trade, aiming to bring together diverse businesses and foster collaboration.

Key Highlights:

- Details: Pak Consulate Scheduled business events for first quarter 2026 in UK
- Objective: To engage the business communities and promote economic cooperation between UK 🇬🇧 and Pakistan 🇵🇰
- APBF's Role: Facilitating and supporting the Consulate to promote Pak businesses and delegates to showcase their products at event to ensure its success

The meeting also discussed potential areas of cooperation, including trade promotion, investment opportunities, delegations, road shows and business networking. Mr. Farooqi and Syed Maaz Mahmood exchanged ideas on how to leverage the event to showcase Pakistan's economic potential and attract foreign direct investment.

Mr. Owais appreciated APBF's efforts for engaging the business community in a positive way.

All Pakistan Business Forum National Board Meeting was held at Lahore. President APBF Syed Maaz Mahmood briefed Board about the ongoing and upcoming events and activities of APBF. The board shown satisfaction on the initiatives taken by APBF to contribute its efforts towards economy. Chairman APBF Ibrahim Qureshi emphasised government to take more initiatives to strengthen economy. He suggested bringing down the borrowing rate so that SME can make exports of the respective industries. He welcomed govt steps to control FBR not to harass business community illegally so that FDI can be encouraged as if local businesses will be benefited then they will invite FDI. Chairman APBF Ibrahim Qureshi also informed the board about a recent meeting with Mr. Zachary Harkenrider, Deputy Head of Mission, and Mr. Robert C. Newsome, Deputy Economic Counselor, at the US Embassy. "The US Embassy has appreciated APBF's initiatives and offered to collaborate on resolving business community issues," he said. He added that APBF and the US Embassy will jointly organize a roundtable conference to discuss challenges, ease of doing business, and other pressing issues.

President APBF Syed Maaz Mahmood said that successful Marka E Haq has made nation proud and energetic to bring country back on track to prosperity. He said there is a strong sentiment in the business community for business growth and development if friendly policies continue. Syed Maaz Mahmood also briefed the board about a recent meeting with H.E. Kistafin Yerzhan, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, where potential collaborations and joint ventures between Pakistani and Kazakh businesses were discussed. The Ambassador appreciated APBF's efforts in promoting trade and investment between the two countries. Maaz said, "We're excited about the potential of these partnerships and look forward to driving economic growth and development in Pakistan."

APBF President Mr. Syed Maaz Mahmood had an interactive meeting with Additional Secretary BOI Mr. Zulfiqar Ali to discuss ways to improve Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Pakistan. During the meeting, BOI expressed its desire to collaborate with APBF to enhance communication and facilitate business-friendly policies. Both parties agreed to work together to create a more conducive business environment and promote economic growth in the country. APBF looks forward to a fruitful partnership with BOI to drive Pakistan's economic development.

During the meeting Board members emphasised SBP of bring positive change in arranging low interest rate easy loans @3-5% to SME keeping in view its last 5-10 years tax returns and clientele feedback for the industry growth. Mr. Ahmed suggested government to implement policies while taking stakeholders on board and proper discussions by sector specialists. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mian Anas, Mr. Adil Jawaid, Mr. Manzoor Malik, Mr. Aamir Ata Barry, Mr. Asif Rafiq Rajwana, Mr. M. Ahmed, Mr. Yaqoob Saifi, and Mr. Haseeb Safdar, who provided valuable insights and contributions to the discussion. At the end APBF National Board paid tribute to Pakistan Armed Forces for banyan um Marsoos victory and highly acknowledged the sacrifices made by our service men to safeguard homeland.

APBF President Mr. Syed Maaz Mahmood had an interactive meeting with H.E. Kistafin Yerzhan, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, to explore new avenues for collaboration between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. The meeting focused on strengthening ties and identifying opportunities for mutual benefit.

The Ambassador thanked APBF for their support in bringing the business communities closer and applauded their efforts to promote JVs, B2B, and bilateral trade. APBF's board has approved a visit to Kazakhstan in October, further solidifying the partnership and exploring new business opportunities.

Together, APBF and the Embassy of Kazakhstan will work to:

- Enhance bilateral trade and investment
- Facilitate joint ventures and partnerships
- Promote cultural and economic exchange

This partnership will drive economic growth, innovation, and prosperity in both nations! "
