ڈاکٹر فیصل مہدی شہریاری نے چھکس کوٹ دنیور میں نوجوانوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے عوامی ایکشن کمیٹی گلگت بلتستان کے رہنماؤں اور نوجوان سیاسی کارکن عرفان آزاد کی بلاجواز گرفتاری پر شدید غم و غصے کا اظہار کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عوامی ایکشن کمیٹی کے رہنماؤں نے ہمیشہ گلگت بلتستان کے عوام کے حقوق کے لیے آواز بلند کی ہے، اور ان کی گرفتاری آزادیِ اظہار پر حملہ ہے۔

ڈاکٹر شہریاری نے کہا کہ عرفان آزاد کی جدوجہد نوجوان نسل کے لیے مشعلِ راہ ہے، اور ایسے باہمت افراد کی حوصلہ افزائی ہونی چاہیے، نہ کہ ان پر قدغن لگائی جائے۔ ہمیں ایسے دین فروش عناصر کو پہچاننا ہوگا، جو دین کا لبادہ اوڑھ کر وطن کا سودا کرناچاہتے ہیں۔ ہم ایسے عناصر کی دھمکیاں اپنی جوتے کی نوک پہ رکھتے ہیں۔ اس موقع پر اگلے لائحہ عمل پر بھی غور و خوض کیا گیا تاکہ عرفان آزاد اور عوامی ایکشن کمیٹی کے مرکزی رہنماؤں کی رہائی اور اظہارِ رائے کی آزادی کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔
