The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training co-hosted a policy dialogue with KP provincial board yesterday ,15th December 2021. There were in depth sessions held with government officials, private school associations, private publishers, teachers and parents. The aim of the sessions was to receive detailed feedback on the draft curriculum. Dr. Mariam Chughtai, Director National Curriculum Council, led the sessions and had candid conversations with all participants.

In order to get input and feedback of all the federating units for developing consensus Single National Curriculum, regional policy dialogue have been started. The series of consultations on SNC kicked off with first meeting at Muzaffarabad Azad Jammu & Kashmir on 10th December 2021. Secretary E&SE Mr. Muhammad Ehsan was the guest of honour at the event. Director, NCC Secretariat, Dr. Mariam Chughtai informed the representatives form public and private sector educational organizations about the vision, approach and progress of the SNC. Later, she answered the queries of the audience on different aspects of recent curriculum reforms. The attendees of the meeting termed this engagement a much needed and successful event to clarify the confusions.

Some confusion has been reported regarding Wording of Kalma e Shahdat in SNC model textbook Islamiyat Grade 3. There are some videos in circulation regarding this claiming the wordings used to be wrong. In this regard, a meeting of the experts from five schools of thought was convened at NCC Secretariat. It was declared that the words used in the textbook are the same, used in Bukhari Hadith number 835. However, the other version is also available. These words cannot be called wrong.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 23 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said the best solution to all social problems lay in following the Seerat of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and emphasized that besides Islamic history, the children should be taught the golden principles of his life.
Chairing a review meeting on the implementation of Single National Curriculum, the prime minister said the Prophet’s Seerat was a beacon for all the coming generations with its specific emphasis on ethics, morality and mannerism.
The prime minister directed finalization of the curriculum for sixth to twelfth grades by the end of this year, in consultation with provinces.
He expressed satisfaction over the performance of the Ministry of Education in implementing the national curriculum and emphasized on its constant review and necessary changes.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, Special Assistant Dr. Shahbaz Gill, Parliamentary Secretary Wajiha Akram and senior officials of the ministry.
Shafqat Mahmood gave a detailed briefing on the inclusion of content related to the teachings of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) in the curriculum.
He mentioned that scholars belonging to various religious schools of thought had been consulted in detail.
The meeting was told that focus had also been laid on the quality of teacher training and examinations.
