إحياء اليوم الوطني للذاكرة - 08 ماي 1945
أحيت سفارة الجزائر بإسلام آباد تحت شعار'' شعب ضحى..فانتصر'' اليوم الوطني للذاكرة، المصادف للثامن ماي 2026 ،المخلّد للذكرى الحادية والثمانين (81) لمجازر 08 ماي 1945 الأليمة. حضر الإحتفاء موظفو السفارة الجزائرية وأسرهم وجمع من أفراد الجالية الوطنية المقيمة في باكستان، حيث تم رفع العلم الوطني مع أنغام النشيد الوطني وقراءة فاتحة القرآن الكريم ، والوقوف دقيقة صمت ترحما على أرواح الشهداء الزكية الطاهرة.
بالمناسبة، ألقى سعادة السفير د.إبراهيم رماني كلمة تناول الأحداث الأليمة والمجازر البشعة التي ارتكبها الاحتلال الفرنسي منذ دخوله بلادنا في 05 جويلية 1830 والتي بلغت ذروتها في المجازر البشعة في 08 ماي 1945 ، والتي أدّت إلى استشهاد 45 ألف مواطن، نساء ورجالا، شيوخا وأطفالا في مناطق سطيف وقالمة وخراطة ، شرق الجزائر،. ونوّه السفير بالمعاني السّامية للوطنية والنضال والمقاومة والتضحيات الباهضة التي قدمها الشعب الجزائري الأبيّ في ارتباطه بأرضه المقدّسة ومكوّنات هويته الحضارية واسترجاع إستقلاله الوطني الغالي.
كما أشاد السفير بالإنجازات الكبيرة التي تحققها الجزائر في مختلف المجالات تحت القيادة الرشيدة لرئيس الجمهورية السيد عبد المجيد تبّون، والتي جعلت منها بلدا رائدا في القارة الأفريقية، وضمن الدول الناهضة ذات المستقبل الواعد بالتقدم والازدهار.
كما نوّه بالاهتمام البالغ التي توليه الدولة الجزائرية لجاليتها الوطنية العزيزة بالخارج، بضرورة تقديم كافة أنواع الدعم والخدمة والحماية، بما يحفظ كرامتها، ويعـزّز مكانتها وارتباطها بالوطن- الأم، ويشجّع ويسهّل اندماجها ومساهمتها الإيجابية في المسيرة الوطنية للبناء والتحديث .
وتخليدا لهذه الذكرى الأليمة، وتكريما لأرواح شهداء الجزائر، تم اقامة معرض حول '' تضحيات ومقاومة الشعب الجزائري ضد جرائم الإستعمار الفرنسي من خلال الأرشيف'' ، أعدّته المديرية العامة للأرشيف الوطني برئاسة الجمهورية، بما يمثل فرصة لإحياء الذاكرة الملحمية للشعب الجزائري، وتجديد العهد بالوفاء والتلاحم بين أبناء الشعب الجزائري الأبيّ في الداخل والخارج.
كما كان اللقاء فرصة لتجديد روابط الجالية الوطنية العزيزة بوطنها - الأم، وتمتين أواصر الأخوة والتضامن فيما بينها، وكذا تعزيز علاقاتها الجيدة مع السفارة الجزائرية.

Commemoration of National Memory Day, May 8, 1945
The Embassy of Algeria in Islamabad commemorated The National Memory day under the slogan "A People Who Sacrificed and Triumphed," coinciding with May 8, 2026, marking the eighty-first (81st) anniversary of the tragic massacres of May 8, 1945. The ceremony was attended by the staff of the Algerian Embassy, their families, and members of the national community residing in Pakistan. The national flag was raised the national anthem was played, the Fatiha of the Holy Quran was recited, Followed by a minute of silence in remembrance of pure and innocent souls of the martyrs.
On this occasion, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Brahim Romani delivered a speech addressing the tragic events and horrific massacres committed by the French occupation since its entry into Algeria on July 5, 1830, these atrocities culminated in the horrific massacres of May 8, 1945. These events led to the martyrdom of 45,000 citizens—men, women, Children and the elderly—in the regions of Sétif, Guelma, and Kherrata in eastern Algeria. The Ambassador highlited the noble meanings of patriotism, struggle, resistance, and the immense sacrifices made by the proud Algerian people in their connection to their sacred land, the components of their cultural identity, and in regaining their precious national independence.
The Ambassador also praised the great achievements made by Algeria in various fields under the wise leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which have made it a leader country in the African continent and among the emerging nations with a promising future of progress and prosperity.
Furthermore, he highlighted the great attention the Algerian government pays to its valued national community abroad, emphasizing the necessity of providing all forms of support, service, and protection to preserve their dignity, strengthen their position and connection to their homeland, and encourage and facilitate their integration and positive contribution to the national process of building and modernization.
To commemorate this tragic anniversary and honor the memory of Algeria’s martyrs, an exhibition was held titled "Sacrifices and Resistance of the Algerian People against the Crimes of French Colonialism through the Archives," prepared by the General Directorate of National Archives at the Presidency of the Republic. This represented an opportunity to revive the epic memory of the Algerian people and renew the pledge of loyalty and solidarity among the proud Algerian people both at home and abroad.
The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen the ties of the esteemed Algerian community with their homeland, to reinforce the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity among them, and to enhance their positive relationship with the Algerian Embassy.
