وزیراعظم آزادکشمیر فیصل ممتاز راٹھور نے عباسپور سے تعلق رکھنے والے سپاہی عبدالعزیز کی شہادت پر انہیں خراج عقیدت پیش کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ سپاہی عبدالعزیز نے 26 فٹ کی بلندی کے گلیشئیر پر دفاع وطن کیلئے قربانی دی جو قوم کے لیے باعث فخر ہے۔ شہداء کی قربانیاں ہماری آزادی، امن اور سلامتی کی ضمانت ہیں۔ پوری قوم اپنے شہداء کو سلام پیش کرتی ہے اور ان کے اہل خانہ کے ساتھ کھڑی ہے۔ وزیراعظم نے دعا کی کہ اللہ تعالیٰ شہید سپاہی عبدالعزیز کے درجات بلند فرمائے، انہیں جنت الفردوس میں اعلیٰ مقام عطا کرے۔

In the intervening night of 29-30th May, 2009 two girls from Shopian, namely Aasiya & Nelofer were r**ed & murdered by Indian men in uniform. The two girls had gone to visit their orchard & never returned back. Aasiya was just 17 & Nelofer 22.
