Webinar on “Research Funding Opportunities and Grant Management”
Organized by PASTIC/PSF Faisalabad on May 22, 2026, at 9:30 AM.A total of 62 participants, primarily senior faculty members from 24 universities in Pakistan and one university in Malaysia, attended the event.
The session commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an introduction to PASTIC’s services by Muhammad Hasnain, Additional Director STI, PASTIC. He highlighted PASTIC’s role in scientific knowledge dissemination, research support, and digital resource access.
Dr. Hammad Majeed, Dean of ORIC at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, delivered a comprehensive presentation on research funding opportunities and grant management. The webinar encouraged active participation from faculty members, and researchers. Dr. Hammad Majeed addressed various questions from the audience, making the session highly interactive. Participants shared positive feedback on the webinar and appreciated PASTIC’s services for researchers.

Webinar on ‘Learn Smart Reference Management with Mendeley’ jointly organized by PASTIC Faisalabad/PSF and ORIC the Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. A total of 27 participants from the university and surrounding organizations attended the event.

Productive Meeting at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences

A productive meeting was held with the Head of T&D Section, Mr. Syed Allah Dad Shah, at BUITEMS, Airport Road Quetta. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held with Mr. Abdul Khalique Sial from the Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) Regional Office/Sub-Center Quetta regarding various programs of the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and PASTIC.

The discussion focused on organizing monthly training sessions and research-oriented programs for researchers, faculty members, scholars, and students across Balochistan.

Mr. Abdul Khalique Sial shared that special directives have been issued by Mir Khalid Hussain Magsi to conduct such academic and research activities in different universities of Balochistan. He further stated that, under the special instructions of the Chairman PSF and DG PASTIC, maximum cooperation and support will be extended for academic, scientific, and research development initiatives in the province.

The participants also appreciated the successful organization of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Session held in February 2026 by PASTIC/PSF. BUITEMS acknowledged and highly appreciated the valuable initiatives undertaken for promoting PASTIC resources, research support, and capacity-building programs.

Honored to be invited by University of Buner as an invited speaker for Technical Session-I at the National Conference on Minerals, Mines and Marble (NCMMM)-2026 held on 04 May 2026 at University of Buner.

The conference, held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Jamshed Ali Khan and organised by the Department of Physics, University of Buner in collaboration with Directorate General of Science & Technology (DoST) and Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, brought together scientists, researchers, academicians, and industrialists to discuss challenges and opportunities in the minerals, mines, and marble sector.

I had the privilege of delivering a technical talk on “From Waste to Wealth through Scientific Innovation: The Strategic Role of PASTIC-PSF.”

The session highlighted the role of Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) under Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) in promoting scientific innovation, resource optimisation, circular economy approaches, advanced materials research, and industry-academia collaboration for transforming waste into valuable economic opportunities.

Grateful for the opportunity to engage with distinguished scientists, academicians, researchers, and industry leaders.

PASTIC National Center, Islamabad conducted a webinar titled “Foundations of AI: Unlocking the Power of Data, Algorithms, and Discovery” was successfully conducted on April 29, 2026, with the participation of 37 attendees from diverse professional and academic backgrounds.

The session aimed to provide a clear understanding of core AI concepts and highlight how data, algorithms, and intelligent systems are transforming research and industry across domains. Participants actively engaged throughout the webinar, reflecting strong interest in applying AI within their respective fields.

At the conclusion of the session, attendees appreciated PASTIC’s efforts in organizing such knowledge-sharing initiatives and expressed interest in future training opportunities.
