Afganisztánban a Pakisztán és Afganisztán között kitört fegyveres konfliktus miatt radikálisan romlott a biztonsági helyzet az elmúlt hetek során. On 15 March, 🇭🇺 Hungary 🇭🇺 commemorates the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848–49 against Habsburg rule. The uprising laid an important foundation for modern Hungarian national identity, sparking a movement that championed the Hungarian language and culture, as well as the cause of self-government.

One of the most iconic figures of the revolution was the young poet Sándor Petőfi, who helped ignite the movement by reciting his poem Nemzeti Dal (“National Song”). Petőfi’s poetry later had a profound influence on Allama Muhammad Iqbal, who paid tribute to the Hungarian poet in a poem included in Payam-e-Mashriq.

The application for the 2026/2027 academic year of the Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Program is now open. All young people who are living in the Hungarian diaspora, have Hungarian roots (that can be verified by official, certified documents), and wish to start their higher education in Hungary in the 2026/2027 academic year can apply for the Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Program. The deadline for submitting applications is 2 February 2026.
