How to improve your emotional intelligence

Emotional intelligence measures our ability to perceive our own emotions as well as the emotions of others and to manage them in a productive and healthy way.

There are some steps to improve the emotional intelligence and develop self awareness and empathy

Practice observing, how you feel in the process of rushing from one commitment to the other, meeting deadlines and responding to external demands, some of us have less awareness about our emotions and we're far more likely to act unconsciously and missed out the valuable information that our emotions contain.

Whenever we have an emotional reaction to something we're receiving information about a particular person, situation or event. The reaction we experience might be due to the situation or it might be due to the situation reminding us of a painful, unprocessed memory.

When we pay attention to how we feel, we learn to trust our emotions and we become more adapt in managing them. There are following exercises to improve the emotions:

Pay attention to where the emotion is showing up as a physical feeling in your body and how you feel the sensation. The more you practice the more it will become better.

How you behave and manage your emotions which is something you can only do if you're consciously aware of your emotions.

While you're practicing your emotional awareness notice how you act when you're experiecing certain emotions and how that affects your life.

It become easy for us when we're more conscious of how we're reacting to our emotions.

Take resposibility for your feelings and behavior. Your emotions and behavior come from you they don't come from anyone else therefore you're responsible for your emotions and behavior.

Your feelings can provide you with vauable information about your experience of the other person, your own needs and preferences but you're feelings are not another person's responsibility.

Practice empathizing with yourself and others. Empathy is about understanding why someone feels or behave in a certain way and being able to communicate that understanding to them. It applies to ourselves and others and it improve your emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is a lifetime process. You can improve your emotional intelligence.

Personality tips to be more attractive

Learn important social skills. the more successful you are in social areas the more self confidence you will have.

Don't avoid socializing. sent out apportunities attend events and be proactive in participating in social function.

Create your own style. you don't want to be a replica of someone else you want to be yourself.

Write a journal. A journal is an excellent tool for self reflection and personal growth.

Stay smart and keep cool. Even if you are in a stressful situation try to keep cool.

Don't doubt yourself. Remind yourself of your competence often and be positive and assertive in your decision.

Be ptimistic. People are attracted to others who can bring the bright side of things and can bring positivity to any situation.

Be passionate about your work.You know what your passion is try to maintain a positive attitude about making the necessary changes in your life.

Don't be aggressive. Being calmly confident about what you want or the direction you think things should resolve.

Be a good listener. Show other people that you are listening and you are interested by asking questions about the related topic that have shared.

Be sincere. Its important to be appropriately open and honest with yourself. You don't have to share everything but you need to be yourself.

Be confident. Having confidence is endearing but being overly confident is unattractive.

Dress confidently. Dressing appropriately for the occasion and keep a healthy posture increase confidence.

Don't strive for perfection. When you show your imperfections you put people at ease.

Live for yourself. People live with a sense of purpose are attractive because they are able to show their strength.

Choose happiness. Choose to be greatful to see the positive in life rather than negative to find joy in simple things and also to keep a smile.

Practice self care. People who take good care of themselves are more attractive to others.

When you met people who are likable they have a good dose of charisma thats attractive to others.

How to help someone with OCD

obsessive compulsive disorder

OCD is an anxiety disorder in which individual have recurring, unwanted thoughts, idea or sensations ( obsession) that make them feel driven to do something repetitively ( compulsion).

OCD fall into one of the following categories:

Washers are afraid of contamination. They usually have cleaning or hand washing compulsions.

Checkers repetitively check things (oven turned off, door locked etc) that they associate with harm or danger.

Doubters are afraid that if everything isn't perfect or done just right something terrible will happen or they will be punished.

Counters and arrangers are obsessed with order and symmetry. They may have superstitions about certain numbers, colors or arrangements.

Hoarders feel that something bad will happen if they throw anything away. They compulsively hoard things that they dont need or use. They may also suffer from other disorders such as depression, ptsd, adhd.

How to help someone with ocd. The way you react to your loved one's ocd symptoms can have an impact on their recovery. Negative comments or criticism can make ocd worse, while a calm, supportive environment can be helpful for the treatment.

Avoid making personal criticism. OCD behaviors are not character flaws they are only the symptoms.

Don't scold someone with ocd or tell them not to perform the behavior. They can't comply and will only make the bahavior worse.

Be as kind and patience as possible. Each sufferer need to overcome problems at their own pace. Praise the successful attempt to resist ocd and focus attention on positive element in the person's life.

The communication should be positive and clear. Communication is important so you can find a balance between supporting your loved one and help to improve the symptoms.

Find the humor, laugh together over the funny side can help to improve your loved one become detached from the disorder and your loved one should feel respected.

Try to make the environment as normal as possible and low stressful.

How to get over a breakup

Some simple tips

The first thing you need to do is stop seeing them in your future. Just tell yourself that there is no future with them. Stop thinking they will come back. Its over, accept it.

Do not contact them. No matter what happens. Just dont text, call, see them at all. Its better to cry alone than ruining your self respect by contacting them.

Block them so they cannot contact you either.

If there are any mutual friends tell them not to tell you anything about them or their life. Not hearing about them helps.

Avoid things that remind you of them. Stop going to the places where you might remember about them. When you get over the situation than you can go to those places when you have control over your feelings to normalise the contact with them.

Stop thinking that the world ends here because lets think logic, it doesn't. The world is full of good people and you will find more better than them. If this didn't workout doesn't mean nothing will.

Throw away everything they gave you, even the memories. Yes, you can control your mind. Ypu cannot let it think about a certain thing. Make youself busy in stuff. Empty mind thinks a lot and it take you on the road of memories. Don't let it.

Try to remember bad part about your relationship and not to remember good things about them, it helps moving on.

Don't be friends with them as far as you think any of you have feelings for each other.

Share your feelings with a friend who has been through the same situation.

Learn from this relationship. If nothing works consult and take help from a professional.

How to manage anxiety and stress

These points are for the mental health. Feeling fear and anxiety in a pandemic situation and how it can be managed.

Practicing yoga:
It is a good time and you will enjoy it. Trying new things and discovering new activities can be a healthy distraction that is beneficial.

Meditation:
It is important in calming the nerves and reducing tension.

Relax by breathing:
It is a simple technique and breathing exercise. Take a deep breath, hold your breath for three seconds and than exhale your breath. Practice this exercise for few minutes and you will feel calm and comfortable.

Practice your favourite activities:
Do the activities which are your favourite. Reading, watch a comedy and eat the food you enjoy.

If you feel more anxiety and stress about an outbreak reduce the exposure to the media. Anxiety arises when people overestimate the threat and reduce their coping abilities.
It is a good idea to have a general idea of what is happening. If you live near an area with an high concentration of cases. It is important to limit the exposure to the media especially from unreliable sources. Just follow world health organization if you want to take information about the virus.

Do whatever you can to protect yourself, your family and others including hygiene, sterilization practices and follow the safety precautions and not go to the gathering places.

Eat healthy, exercise as much as possible even if you do some simple exercises at home.

Communicate with friends. Social isolation nourish the depression just because you may be physically distant from others so you can stay in social contact with them by social media or phone.
