Sindh Teacher Education Development Authority (STEDA) hosted an online introductory meeting with Global School Leaders (GSL) an international organization, to explore potential avenues of collaboration for strengthening leadership capacity among school leaders through contextual and evidence-based approaches.

The meeting was attended by Syed Rasool Bux Shah, Executive Director STEDA, along with the STEDA team, while the GSL representatives included Tamara Philip, Director of Programs, and Hassan Jamil, Manager, Special Projects.

The discussion focused on future collaboration opportunities aimed at enhancing leadership skills and professional development for school leaders. The session provided valuable insights into potential areas of collaboration and concluded with a shared commitment towards exploring impactful partnerships in the education sector.

Syed Rasool Bux Shah, Executive Director STEDA, while inaugurating the Course Leaders Training under the EaSTE-II project, stated that strengthening teachers’ professional capacity remains a top priority of the School Education & Literacy Department (SELD), Government of Sindh. He emphasized that such initiatives are essential for improving classroom practices and ensuring quality education across the province.

This Training of Trainers (T o T) , implemented in collaboration with the British Council and Evolution (Implementing Partner), is being held at Beach Luxury Hotel from 5th to 7th May 2026. The intensive three-day program aims to develop Master Trainers who will further cascade the training, ensuring broader outreach and sustainable impact in teaching and learning processes across Sindh.

Prem Sagar, Special Consultant SELD and Focal Person for EaSTE-II, highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative and its alignment with ongoing education reforms in the province. Sidrah Niaz, Chief Executive Officer, Evolution, shared insights on the program design and its transformative potential for improving instructional practices.

From STEDA, Director Quality Assurance Zainul Abidine Laghari,Ms Nadia Qasim CPD Specialist , Ms Sadaf Shaikh (Assistant Director STEDA), Ms Anila Katbar (Assistant Director STEDA), and Mr Muhammad Ali (Assistant Director STEDA) also attended the session .

From Evolution, Dr Hina H. Kazmi (Managing Director) and Mr Akhlaq Hussain (Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist) were present. Mr Muhammad Omer Education program manager of British Council ,Ms Rabia Malik (Academic Consultant British Council), Ms Erum, and Ms Rabia Shafi ,Ms Urooj and others also participated in the session.

From the British Council, Ms Huda warmly welcomed all participants, setting a collaborative and engaging tone for the training.

Strengthening Quality Education through Leadership & Commitment

STEDA quality Assurance team, led by Mr. Zain ul Abdin Laghari, Director Quality Assurance, visited the IECED Centers in Shaheed Benazirabad (SBA) and Larkana districts as part of its mandate to monitor and ensure compliance with established standards in teacher education programs.

Both centers are conducting structured ECCE programs funded by Government of Sindh. The visit focused on evaluating classroom practices, infrastructure, resource availability, and overall program implementation.
The team observed encouraging practices such as interactive teaching methodologies, student engagement, and structured ECCE programs. At the same time, critical areas for improvement were identified.
