Due to the recent tragic events the Commissioner Karachi 10KM City Run marathon has been postponed until further notice.

Karachi’s city administration has decided to organise a 10-kilometre running event, titled “City Run 26 Karachi”, on January 25 to promote healthy and positive activities in the city.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi.

DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah was appointed chairman of the organising committee.

Addressing the meeting, the commissioner said the City Run would help strengthen peace in Karachi and support the government’s efforts to encourage constructive and healthy activities.

He urged citizens from all walks of life to actively take part in the event.

Officials informed the meeting that registration arrangements have been completed.

The race route was finalised, which will start from Tower, pass through various city roads and conclude at the Club Ground.

According to an official handout, a registration desk has been set up at the Commissioner’s Office on the commissioner’s instructions.

A special team has been deployed to manage registrations.

Interested participants can register either through the Commissioner Karachi website or by visiting the Commissioner’s Office.

Five categories have been created for the City Run, including separate categories for children and persons with special needs.

Cash prizes will be awarded to winners in each category, while all participants who complete the race within the given time will receive medals.
