The German Consulate General Karachi will remain closed on Wednesday, 27 May, and Thursday, 28 May 2026, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

Consular services will resume on Friday, 29 May 2026.

The German Consulate General Karachi extends its warmest wishes for a peaceful and joyous Eid al-Adha to all celebrating.

Consul General Mr. Schultze was profoundly impressed during his visit to the Sindh Judicial Academy in Karachi as part of the Pakistan Labour Academy training program. ⚖️

As a lawyer himself, qualified to serve as a judge in Germany, he particularly appreciated the Academy’s outstanding contribution to judicial excellence through its in-service training for judicial officers, court staff, and lawyers.

Sindh Judicial Academy stands as a remarkable institution strengthening legal capacity, improving courtroom efficiency, and promoting informed and effective justice delivery in Pakistan.

On the occasion of Whit Monday (Pfingstmontag), the German Consulate General Karachi will remain closed on Monday, 25 May 2026. 🇩🇪

Regular operations will resume on the next working day.

We are horrified to hear of the passenger train blast near Chaman Phatak in Quetta, Balochistan, and strongly condemn this heinous attack.

Our heartfelt condolences are with the families and loved ones of the victims, and we wish a swift and full recovery to those injured.

On this day in 1949, Germany’s Basic Law (Grundgesetz) came into effect. Rising from the devastation of WWII, it laid the foundation for a new Federal Republic rooted in human dignity, democracy, and the rule of law. 🏛️

For decades, this constitution wasn't just a legal document — it was a beacon of hope for East Germans living under a repressive regime, representing the fundamental freedoms they were denied. When the Berlin Wall finally fell in 1989, the Basic Law provided the democratic blueprint needed to swiftly reunite the nation in freedom and self-determination.

Today, we reflect on what it truly means to live in a free society. The Basic Law doesn't just shape Germany's legal system; it actively protects the civil liberties that keep the country stable, just, and free.
