WASA Lahore Accelerates Development Projects Under the People-Friendly Vision of the Government of Punjab
A key review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Managing Director WASA, Ghufran Ahmed.
A detailed review of the weekly progress of projects under the Lahore Development Program Phase-II was conducted.
The meeting was attended by all Directors and XENs, who actively participated and provided comprehensive briefings on ongoing development works across various towns.
The Managing Director directed that the pace of development projects be further accelerated and emphasized that timely completion of all projects must be ensured at all costs.
He reaffirmed that the provision of the best drainage system and public services to citizens remains WASA Lahore’s top priority.
The MD WASA also issued strict instructions for the immediate resolution of public complaints, stating that delays in addressing them are unacceptable.
He further directed that the desilting operations must continue effectively as per the scheduled plan, with special focus on the cleaning of roadside drains.
Instructions were also given to ensure proper cleanliness and effective branding of all WASA vehicles.
Additionally, all field staff were directed to perform their duties in proper uniform and maintain strong visibility in the field.
The Managing Director emphasized strict monitoring of manhole covers to ensure public safety and operational efficiency.

In line with the vision of the Government of Punjab, WASA Lahore continues to actively serve the public with a strong focus on improving municipal infrastructure.
Managing Director WASA Lahore, Ghufran Ahmed, visited the ongoing sewerage upgradation project in Poonch House Colony and Chuburji Garden Estate.
During the visit, Director Shazil Waqar gave a detailed briefing on the progress and scope of the project. He informed that the sewerage upgradation scheme for Poonch House Colony and Chuburji Garden Estate is progressing rapidly towards completion, with approximately 50% of the work already completed.
Under this project, sewerage lines of various sizes, ranging from 9 inches to 36 inches in diameter, are being installed in accordance with modern engineering standards. Additionally, a state-of-the-art pumping station (lift station) will be constructed to further improve the drainage system.
The project is expected to significantly reduce water accumulation issues, especially during the monsoon season. The MD WASA directed that the project must be completed within the stipulated timeline under all circumstances.
He further emphasized that upon completion, the project will resolve long-standing sewerage issues in the area and provide improved services to residents. Ensuring efficient drainage and better civic facilities for citizens remains the top priority of WASA Lahore.
In line with the vision of CM PUNJAB Maryam Nawaz Sharif, WASA Lahore continues to actively serve the public with dedication and commitment.
Managing Director WASA Lahore, Ghufran Ahmed, visited the Cantt Drain in Shadman to review ongoing operations.
During the visit, the MD WASA conducted a detailed inspection of the cleaning and desilting activities currently underway at the Cantt Drain. Director Aziz Bhatti Town, Sharjeel Hussain, briefed the MD WASA on the overall condition of the drain, progress of cleaning work, and the challenges being faced.
According to the briefing, two cycles of desilting at the Shadman Cantt Drain have already been completed. The third cycle, covering the stretch from Shama Station to Infantry Road, is expected to be completed within the current month.
The MD WASA issued special instructions to ensure thorough cleaning beneath all bridges. He also directed officers to actively involve public representatives in the desilting operation to ensure transparency and community engagement.
He emphasized that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, providing efficient drainage and quality municipal services to citizens remains WASA’s top priority.
Director WASA, Mudassar Javed, met with Director General Sports Punjab, Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, at the National Hockey Stadium.
During the meeting, both officials held a detailed discussion on promoting mutual cooperation and the organization of the CM Punjab Premier League.
WASA Lahore, in collaboration with the Sports Board Punjab, will play an active role in encouraging youth towards healthy activities, said Director Mudassar Javed.
The DG Sports Punjab appreciated WASA Lahore for its support in ensuring the successful organization of the Punjab Premier League.

He further added that the CM Punjab Premier League will play a vital role in promoting a positive spirit of competition among various government institutions.

Such activities will significantly contribute to the promotion of sports across the province.
WASA Lahore, by actively participating in this national-level league, stands shoulder to shoulder with the Sports Board Punjab to promote young talent, concluded Mudassar Javed.
MD WASA Ghufran Ahmed Continues Visits to Low-Lying Areas
Managing Director WASA, Ghufran Ahmed, continued his visits to low-lying areas to monitor the ongoing situation.
He visited Qurtaba Chowk and personally inspected the drainage operations.
During the visit, MD WASA directed the teams to further accelerate the drainage work to ensure timely clearance of rainwater.
He emphasized that all major roads should be cleared as quickly as possible to restore smooth traffic flow.
He also instructed the staff to utilize all available resources to ensure the swift drainage of water from low-lying areas.

Heavy Rainfall Continues Across the City
In line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Managing Director WASA, Ghufran Ahmed, continued his visits to low-lying areas during the ongoing heavy rainfall.
MD WASA Ghufran Ahmed visited Mall Road, Cooper Road, and Lakshmi Chowk to review the drainage situation.
Director Ganj Bakhsh Town, Mian Hamid Laal, briefed the MD WASA in detail regarding the ongoing drainage operations.
MD WASA directed the teams to ensure that drainage operations continue effectively and without interruption.
He further instructed all officers and field staff to remain fully active until the last drop of rainwater is drained.
All disposal stations are currently operating at full capacity, according to MD WASA.
