2023-me would be so proud.

Last week, I had the privilege of attending the 19th Annual Conference on Pakistan’s Economy at Lahore School of Economics.

Not too long ago, I was highlighting and underlining the work of Dr. Ishrat Hussain to understand Pakistan’s economy for my CSS exams.

Sitting now as a Civil Servant, in the same room as him for a conference he chaired, was a reminder of how far I’ve come.
But more importantly, it was a reminder of what lies ahead.
I realized that the days of just understanding the economy for an exam are over. Now, the responsibility is to manage it.
Looking at Dr. Ishrat Husain now, I don’t see a reference for an essay. I see a standard to meet.

It’s no longer about the diagnosis. It’s about the cure. And we’re the ones on call. 🇵🇰

Walking the grounds of the Civil Services Academy (CSA) with the 54th CTP, it finally hit me. Between the 12 grueling CSS papers, the endless study nights, and the high-stakes interviews, this moment was once just a distant dream.
Now, it’s my reality.
As we kick off the Pre-CTP inauguration, I’m taking a second to look around and be grateful for how far I’ve come.
