Dr. Shinawar Waseem Ali, representative of the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC), visited the KM-LRC (UMT). Head LRC, Mr. Rafiq Awan, gave him a detailed tour of various sections of the library and briefed him about the available facilities and services. The delegation highly appreciated the library’s management system, resources, and the services provided for students. He remarked that the UMT Library is an excellent resource center for education and research, effectively fulfilling the academic and informational needs of both students and faculty.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) conducted an accreditation visit to the University of Management and Technology (UMT). They also visited KM-LRC and Mr Sohail Aslam (Senior Manager) briefed the delegation about the resources, services and facilities available for the library users. The members of HEC were highly impressed with the way UMT is meeting the compliance standards set for education. They commended the institution for its commitment to maintaining high-quality educational resources and facilities. The council members also noted the exceptional organization and management of the KM-LRC, which significantly enhances the learning experience for students. Their positive feedback underscores UMT's dedication to excellence in Higher Education education and continuous improvement in academic services.

Library Orientation

Prof Dr Shian-Ling Keng distinguished clinical psychologist and faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Sunway University, Malaysia and Dr. Pamela Buck, a licensed clinical psychologist and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Boston Child Study Center visited KM-LRC UMT.

Mr. Jack William, International Recruitment Officer (The University of Sunderland-UK) visited LRC-UMT. Mr. Sohail Aslam CLO-LRC briefed him about the services and resources offered by LRC. Mr. Ghazali Akhtar, Director (IndusPak Advisors), Mr. Humair Ahmed, Sr. Regional Manager and Mr. Syed M. Ali, PR/Networking Manager (Pakistan) accompanied them as well.

In an effort to foster a culture of academic exploration and resource utilization, an orientation session for library resources and services was conducted for the M.Phil Scholars of Islamic Thought and Civilization on Saturday, 26th October, 2024. The session was conducted by Mr. Muhammad Ismail, Senior Library Officer. The session commenced with a comprehensive overview of the library's physical layout, highlighting key sections. Attendees were guided through the library's online catalog system, equipped with search techniques to efficiently locate books, journals, and digital resources.
Moreover, Mr. Muhammad Ismail provided insights into the various research support services offered, including citation assistance, thesis templates, libguides and access to digital databases. Students were encouraged to leverage these resources to enhance the quality and depth of their scholarly pursuits.
