A review meeting was held on 05.05.2026 to assess the progress regarding the opening of the Rock Salt Outlet of PUNJMIN. The Managing Director, PUNJMIN, along with his team, attended the meeting and apprised the forum of the developments made so far.

During the course of deliberations, various aspects relating to the operational readiness of the outlet were discussed in detail. The Chair emphasized the need to expedite the remaining work and complete all final arrangements at the earliest, so as to ensure that the outlet is fully prepared for inauguration without any delay.

Meeting regarding opening of Rock Salt Outlet of PUNJMIN (04.05.2026)

A meeting was held to review progress regarding the opening of the rock salt outlet of PUNJMIN. The Managing Director, PUNJMIN, along with his team, was present.

After detailed discussion, the Chair directed that three comprehensive leaflets be prepared for placement at the Business Facilitation Center (BFC) of Pink Salt. The Chair also emphasized expediting the final touches and necessary arrangements to ensure that the outlet is fully prepared for opening.

A meeting was held on 04.05.2026 to review and discuss the final report submitted by NESPAK regarding the detailed exploration of Block-3 of placer gold in Attock. The Project Director of the scheme presented key observations and findings from the report.
After thorough deliberation, the Chair directed NESPAK to address the identified observations and submit a revised and rectified report within two (02) days. The Chair further instructed that the revised report should also include the determination of the estimated reserve price of the resource.

A progress review meeting was held on 29.04.2026 at 12.30 pm to assess the ADP scheme titled Automation and integration of existing developed systems of DG Office on centralized platform. Representatives from PITB and BOP participated and provided a comprehensive briefing on the progress of the e-auction module.
The Chair emphasized expediting the process and directed that the e-auction system be finalized by 20th May, ensuring it is robust, transparent, and foolproof to support efficient implementation.

A Contract Agreement for Consultancy Services was executed between the Mines & Minerals Department (MMD) and the Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP) for the physical ex*****on of the scope of work under the ADP Scheme titled “Economic Prospective of Coal, Iron Ore, Limestone and other Industrial Minerals in Koh-e-Suleman, Dera Ghazi Khan Division” on 23.04.2026 at 11:30 AM.

The ceremony was presided over by the Hon’ble Minister and Secretary, Mines & Minerals Department, who emphasized the importance of timely and efficient ex*****on of the project activities at site.

The Secretary, Mines & Minerals Department, Government of Punjab, accompanied by a team of technical experts, visited Chiniot on 20.04.2026 for high-level deliberations regarding the mining feasibility of the Chiniot Iron Ore deposits. A detailed meeting was held with the district administration at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chiniot, wherein technical, operational, and administrative aspects of the project were comprehensively reviewed.

Subsequently, the delegation conducted an on-site inspection to assess the prevailing geological conditions and evaluate key parameters relevant to prospective mining operations. The Deputy Commissioner, Chiniot, along with the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Assistant Commissioner, and other concerned officials, remained actively engaged in facilitating the proceedings, marking a significant step towards informed appraisal and future development of the mineral resource.

A performance review meeting of CIM was held at 10:30 AM on 14.4.2026 under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Mines & Minerals Department, focusing on safety inspections, enforcement of corrective actions against the observations raised, ongoing initiatives, key achievements, and future goals as part of the performance evaluation process. During the inspection, safety protocols and operational practices were thoroughly reviewed, and compliance with the relevant laws and regulations was assessed, with emphasis on strengthening safety standards and regulatory oversight.

On 09.04.2026 at 03:30 PM, NESPAK presented a detailed briefing to the Secretary, Mines & Minerals Department regarding placer gold exploration. The briefing covered the progress of drilled boreholes, sampling, laboratory analysis, and updates from the Qualified Person (QP), along with operational developments, preliminary findings, and difficulties being faced at the project site. NESPAK also briefed the Chair regarding the interface/dashboard developed for online access to ongoing site activities, enabling real-time updates to higher authorities.

The Chair, after a comprehensive review, issued strict directions to NESPAK as well as the Project Manager of the scheme to undertake an immediate site visit at the highest level, coordinate closely with the district administration, and complete all requisite formalities. It was further directed that complete details of machinery and personnel deployed at site be maintained on a daily basis and shared with district administration in accordance with prescribed protocols.

The Chair also directed that the trenching process be commenced without any delay and completed within a period of two days. Furthermore, all findings, reports, and related deliverables were ordered to be finalized within stipulated timelines to ensure expeditious completion of the project. All concerned were directed to strictly adhere to these instructions and to report progress within the prescribed timelines.

A meeting to review the progress of the last auction round of minor and major minerals, as well as the progress of the automation and integration of the existing e-auction systems of the Directorate General Mines and Minerals, was held on 09.04.2026 at 11:00 AM under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Mines and Minerals Department.

During the meeting, the Chair thoroughly reviewed the progress of the auction process and the automation scheme. Necessary directions were issued to the concerned officers for timely completion of the project and to ensure a smooth and transparent auction process, aimed at enhancing competitive bidding and eliminating pooling and other practices that adversely affect transparency.
