Punjab Socio-Economic Registry Core Working Group Meeting

• The Core Working Group (CWG) reviewed progress on the implementation of the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER)
• Detailed discussion on data quality to ensure reliability and accuracy of socio-economic information
• Focus on integration of PSER with social protection programs for improved service delivery and beneficiary targeting
• Key technical and policy matters examined to strengthen system efficiency and coordination

- Discussion on the Smog Mitigation Action Plan 2025-26, a coordinated multi-departmental framework led by SMU for implementation and inter-departmental coordination
- Key focus on environmental sustainability, Revolving Fund, pre-disaster preparedness, and the Government of Punjab’s proactive climate resilience measures
- Punjab Climate Observatory highlighted as a flagship platform for data-driven decision-making, with research support from Urban Unit

Developing Resilient Environment and Advancing Municipal Services (DREAMS-II) project. Reviewed by Chairman Planning & Development Board, Dr. Naeem Rauf. Secretary P&DB, Mr. Rafaqat Ali, and relevant officers were in attendance.

Key Highlights:
* Discussion focused on the proposed ADB-funded initiative and its components
* DREAMS-II is a major urban development project in Punjab, aimed at improving, modernizing, and ensuring sustainable water supply and sanitation infrastructure in intermediate cities
* Decision taken to include Multan and Bahawalpur within the project scope

Syed Aashiq Hussain Shah, Minister for Agriculture, chaired a meeting on Chief Minister’s Economic Transformation Plan (Agriculture & Livestock). Dr. Naeem Rauf, Chairman P&DB; Dr. Farukh Naveed, Chief Economist, P&DB; Mr. Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Secretary Agriculture ; Mr. Rafaqat Ali, Secretary P&D; Mr. Ahmad Aziz Tarar, Secretary Livestock , and other relevant officers were in attendance.

• Discussion focused on accelerating agricultural transformation and livestock sector modernisation
• Emphasis on enhancing productivity, improving value chains, and strengthening institutional coordination

Special Departmental Accounts Committee (SDAC) meeting convened at Planning & Development Board under the chairmanship of Additional Secretary (Admin), Mr. Ashar Iqbal Khan. The committee reviewed audit observations, and directed to improve financial controls, ensuring efficient and transparent utilization of public funds for development priorities.

Focusing on progress and next steps for strengthening Punjab's health systems. A debriefing session was held with the visiting World Bank Mission on the National Health Support Program- NHSP . The meeting was chaired by Member Health & Nutrition P&D Board, Mr. Shafaat Ali and attended by officials from the Govt of Punjab and World Bank
