A Youth Conference focusing on population management, responsible parenthood, and family planning awareness was successfully organized at Government Graduate College for Women, Wahdat Colony. The event aimed to engage young students in meaningful dialogue on the social, economic, and health implications of rapid population growth, while promoting informed decision-making among youth.
The conference was attended by Muhammad Afzal Chaudhary, Deputy Director (SBCC/IEC), along with Salman ur Rashid Assistant Director (IEC) and Sania Mirza, Assistant Director (IEC).
Representatives from The Challenge Initiative, including Khubaib Kiani and Khalid, also participated and shared insights on youth engagement strategies and community-based awareness initiatives.
The Principal of the college, Professor Dr. Uzma Khanum, welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the importance of equipping young women with knowledge about reproductive health and responsible life planning. Faiza Javid, Lecturer in Political Science and Focal Person for organizing the conference, emphasized the role of academic institutions in shaping informed and responsible citizens capable of contributing to sustainable national development.
During the interactive sessions, speakers encouraged students to become ambassadors of positive change by spreading accurate, culturally sensitive, and youth-friendly messages within their communities. Participants actively engaged in discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and awareness activities designed to strengthen their understanding of population dynamics and family planning services available in Punjab.
An engaging one-act theatre performance was also organized as part of youth-focused awareness activities on population management, responsible parenthood, and family planning. The activity aimed to convey important social messages through creative expression, encouraging students to reflect on the impact of rapid population growth on health, education, and economic wellbeing.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from students and teachers to continue spreading awareness within their communities and to support initiatives promoting healthy families and sustainable national development and ensuring a healthier, more prosperous future for Pakistan.

Youth Conference on “Youth as Catalysts of Change: Pakistan’s Population Management Challenges” Held at Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore.

A Youth Conference under Chief Minister Population Management and Family Planning Program on the theme “Youth as Catalysts of Change: Pakistan’s Population Management Challenges” was successfully organized by Directorate General, Population Welfare, Health and Population Department, Punjab at Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, aiming to raise awareness among students regarding the adverse impacts of over-population, the importance of population management, and the role of family planning in sustainable national development.
The event was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Iram Anjum and Vice Principal Dr. Kalsoom Akhtar, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the critical role of informed and empowered youth in addressing Pakistan’s population-related challenges and promoting responsible social behavior.
Representing the Directorate General, Health and Population Department, Punjab,
Mr. Muhammad Afzal Chaudhary, Deputy Director (SBCC), Mr. Salman-ur-Rashid ,Assistant Director (IEC), and Mrs. Sania Mirza sensitized the participants about the negative impacts of over-population, the need for effective population management, and the significance of family planning in ensuring healthier families, improved maternal and child health, and sustainable socioeconomic development.
Mr. Khubabib Kiani, Provincial Lead, along with Mr. Khalid, from The Challenge Initiative (TCI), highlighted the importance of meaningful youth engagement and encouraged students to become active advocates for awareness, responsible decision-making, and positive community change.
To further reinforce key messages, participants were engaged through a One-Act Theatre Play depicting community-level issues related to over-population, family planning, and population management. The interactive performance generated strong interest and constructive dialogue among students, demonstrating the effectiveness of creative communication approaches in public awareness.
The conference concluded with a collective commitment to empowering youth with knowledge, promoting responsible choices, and strengthening collaborative efforts toward sustainable population growth and national progress.

A Youth Conference on the theme “Balancing Growth and Development: Pakistan’s Population Challenge” was organized at the University of South Asia on 19th November 2025 under the ADP Scheme titled “Chief Minister Population Management and Family Planning Program.”
The conference aimed to sensitize youth about the critical link between population dynamics and sustainable development, encouraging informed dialogue and responsible decision-making. Active participation of students highlighted the importance of youth engagement in addressing Pakistan’s population challenges for a balanced and prosperous future.
