A comprehensive brief to the newly appointed Minister, Mr. Fazal Shakoor Khan was given at PHE Secretariat today (04-11-2025). The Secretary PHED, Mr. Dawood Khan, welcomed the Hon’ble Minister and presented the department's overall structure along with developmental portfolio.

Further detailed presentation was briefed by Additional Secretary Mr. Jehangir Azam and Director Technical Mr. Muhammad Wasim on Water Quality, Development Plans, ADP and shared future initiatives, all Chief Engineers also attended the briefing.

The Minister appreciated the hard work of the department and encouraged the team to continue working with dedication to improve water supply and sanitation services for the community. He assured his support in service delivery to the general public and aimed to work as a team.

KP Good Governance Roadmap – Progress Review Meeting

A meeting of the Roadmap Implementation Committee (RIC) was held under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, on 15th October 2025 to review departmental progress under the KP Good Governance Roadmap.

The forum reviewed key interventions including the Litigation Management Module, Mobile Application Development, Rainwater Harvesting and Groundwater Recharge (KP-RIISP), and the Behavior Change Communication (BCC) Strategy. Updates were also shared on activities related to water quality monitoring and overall progress across formations.

The Secretary emphasized transparency and timely reporting, directing that all minutes and supporting documents be regularly uploaded to the IPMS Good Governance Portal. He further instructed that delayed activities be expedited and formally reported to the PMRU for necessary action.

It was decided that the Committee will meet weekly to track and ensure timely completion of interventions under the Good Governance Roadmap.

A meeting was held regarding the revision and amendment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Areas Drinking Water Supply Schemes 1992 in the Public Health Engineering Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

- The purpose of this revision is to modernize and improve existing laws so that rural communities can get better access to clean and safe drinking water.
- Updated rules will ensure timely completion of projects, proper monitoring, and long-term sustainability of water supply schemes.
- The amendments will also focus on reactivating non-functional schemes and introducing modern technologies for water quality improvement.

The PHE Department remains committed to ensuring that every household in rural areas has access to clean, safe, and sustainable drinking water, in line with the province’s good governance and public service framework.

چیف سیکرٹری خیبرپختونخوا شہاب علی شاہ کی زیرصدارت پبلک ہیلتھ انجینئرنگ (پی ایچ ای) ڈپارٹمنٹ کے روڈمیپ کا جائزہ اجلاس میں پانی کے معیار کو بہتر بنانے اور صوبے کے عوام کو صاف و محفوظ پینے کے پانی کی فراہمی کے اقدامات پر غور کیا گیا۔

• پانی کے نمونوں کے ٹیسٹ میں 15 فیصد اضافہ کرنے کا ہدف کامیابی سے حاصل کیا جاچکا ہے۔

• پی ایچ ای موبائل ایپ پر کام جاری ، جس کے ذریعے شہری شکایات درج کر سکیں گے، بل ادا کر سکیں گے اور یہ محکمہ کے مینجمنٹ انفارمیشن سسٹم (ایم آئی ایس) سے منسلک ہوگا۔ ایپ میں ملازمین کی ایچ آر مینجمنٹ اور ای ٹاسکنگ کے فیچرز بھی شامل کئے جائیں گے۔

• جولائی 2025 میں 298 پانی نمونوں کا ٹیسٹ کیا گیا جن میں سے 220 کو موزوں اور 78 کو غیر موزوں قرار دیا گیا۔ اگست 2025 میں دوبارہ ٹیسٹ کئے گئے 63 نمونوں میں سے 40 موزوں جبکہ 23 غیر موزوں پائے گئے۔ آلودگی کی وجوہات کی نشاندہی کے بعد کلورینیشن اور دیگر اصلاحی اقدامات کئے گئے۔ چیف انجینئر اور سرکل سطح پر بھی اجلاس منعقد کئے گئے تاکہ غیر موزوں نمونوں کی اصلاحی کارروائی یقینی بنائی جا سکے۔

• جاری منصوبوں کو بروقت مکمل کیا جائے اور غیر فعال سکیموں کو فعال بنا کر صاف پانی کی فراہمی کو مزید وسعت دی جائے۔ عوام کو محفوظ پینے کے پانی کی فراہمی کو صوبے کے گڈ گورننس فریم ورک کا لازمی جزو بنایا جائے، چیف سیکرٹری
