Established in January 1995, the department of Social Welfare, Special Education & Women Empowerment is mandated to work in the planning & coordination of social welfare activities & projects, Child Protection & Welfare, Women Welfare & Empowerment, Welfare & Rehabilitation of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), Senior Citizens, professional guidance & financial assistance to the voluntary social welfare agencies, eradication of social evils and the welfare of beggars & the destitute.
