A progress review meeting of the Education Monitoring Authority (EMA) was held under the chairmanship of Arshad Ayub Khan, Honorable Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education (E&SE). The meeting was attended by Khalid Khan, Secretary E&SE, Nagmna Sardar, Director E&SE, and other senior officers of the department.

During the session, the Director General EMA, Manzoor Ahmed Afridi, presented a comprehensive overview of EMA’s performance against key education indicators, trends and district-wise performance analysis. The forum was also briefed on the progress of the Online Action Management System, highlighting its role in ensuring timely corrective measures, improved coordination, and strengthened accountability across the education sector.

The Honorable Minister appreciated the dedicated efforts of EMA in institutionalizing data-driven monitoring. He directed the department to ensure effective follow-up on identified gaps and to take concrete measures for further improvement of service delivery and governance in Education Sector.

On the directions of the Worthy Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Director General of KPEMA, Mr. Sohail Khan, along with the Deputy Director (Establishment), Mr. Zahid Parvez, conducted inspections of various examination halls in District Peshawar.

During the visit, the DG KPEMA conducted spot checks to evaluate the ongoing examination process. The overall environment of the examination halls was found to be satisfactory, with appropriate arrangements in place to ensure transparency, discipline, and smooth conduct of the examinations.

KPEMA remains fully committed to its mandate of actively monitoring examination centers and ensuring that all procedures are carried out in a fair, transparent, and efficient manner.

The Director General of EMA, Mr. Suhail Khan, along with the Deputy Director (Establishment), Mr. Zahid Pervez, conducted a surprise visit to Government Middle School (GMS) Khishti Pul and the District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Nowshera office today.

During their visit to GMS Khishti Pul, they assessed the overall academic environment, inspected the school's infrastructure, and interacted with the teachers to evaluate the quality of education being provided. They also reviewed attendance records, classroom management, and the implementation of educational policies. The Director General of EMA, Mr. Suhail Khan, took the opportunity to address the teaching staff. He emphasized the crucial role that educators play in shaping the future of students and the overall development of the education sector.

Following this, they proceeded to the DMO office, where they examined administrative procedures, checked the efficiency of monitoring mechanisms, and held discussions with staff regarding ongoing projects and challenges faced in the field of education. Their visit aimed to ensure transparency, accountability, and the effective ex*****on of educational initiatives in the region.

As per directions of DG EMA, EMA has started collecting the cumulative attendance of the teachers. Now information about the number of times the teacher was present against the total working days of a month will be collected.
This will help the department analyze the teacher attendance trends and assist the department in making effective policies to curb teacher absenteeism.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Monitoring Authority (KP EMA) Monthly Progress Review Meeting
A monthly progress review meeting of KP Education Monitoring Authority (KP EMA) was held at the Committee Room of the Elementary and Secondary Education Department under the chairmanship of Mr. Masood Ahmed, Secretary E&SE Department.
Director General EMA presented a detailed overview of their progress and highlighted the challenges faced in the field. Overall absesteeism has decreased in the settled districts by 10% as compare to 2014, while it has also reduced significantly in merged districts as well.
Secretary E&SE Department appreciated the efforts of the EMA team and directed them to further improve the monitoring and reporting mechanism of schools to ensure better educational outcomes. Based on the report of EMA , the chair appreciated the services of DEOs of North & South Waziristan, Peshawar, Sub Div Wazir , Sub Div Bittani, Charsadda, Lakki Marwat & Nowshera where number of Non-Functional schools have decreased while directed DEOs of Sub Div Jandola, Dir Bala, Swat, Karak, Malakand, Mardan & Sub Div Hassankhel to improve their peeformance. Student attendance has declined by 2% as compare to last review meeting upon which the chair has shown its concerns are directed the concerned Officials to take immediate meaures to increase student attendance.
